This Thinkdiag device can help tremendously with your car diagnostic
This Thinkdiag device is amazing! The item was well packaged and also fits in a some sort of a cushion inside the box. It appears to be strong and connects flawlessly. I Installed the Thinkdiag+ app, created an account, and activated the device with the information included in the box. Then, I plugged the device in the OBD port of my car and I was able to see things that I did not know existed even though there is currently no CEL on my car dashboard. I was able to know exactly which tires are responsible for the TPMS light and also the state of the batteries and sensors. I also looked at some live data for my evap system and graphed some of them for better understanding. The Thinkdiag showed that the O2 sensors are working just fine and that the catalytic converter may be failing. The tool even showed the temperatures in and out of the catalytic converter which is very important in knowing its efficiency. I did not notice any connection issue and the speed was good in my case. This tool can be for beginners, intermediate, or advance DIYers. If you are new to this, take time to read the messages that appear on the screen when you request a function. If you are not sure, just don’t continue and go do some research on the topic if needed since this device gives you advanced access to your car vehicle computer. I think this is money well spent and its cost is actually less than the diagnostic fee from any dealership. This device can actually program additional keys for your vehicle and remove old keys depending on which car you drive. If you own a Honda or a Toyota, you know how much it costs for an extra key from the dealer. All in all, I think buying this device was a good investment even if you use it for one or two car diagnostics or simply to program a key/remote. The only downside is that there is a subscription fee after the free year for the reset services and the systems. If you don’t renew, the reset functions and all systems will go away, but you will still be able to use the OBD function and even see some live data. The renewal options are not very clear or efficiently structured in my opinion. It is as if it would make more sense to get another device with a free year instead of renewing the full package. Even the cost to renew one reset service seems a little overboard in my opinion, but I trust that they know what they are doing and I am not trying to tell them how to run their business. If this was an option, my rating would actually be 4.5 out 5 because of that. However, the device performed well and it provided me with the info needed. Depending on your needs and how much you know or willing to learn about car data, this may be a good tool to have in your glove box.

Very powerful and full of bi-direcrional elements!
Used on multiple diesels and can check injector balance rates. Shut injectors on/off. This has more capabilities than my $700 tablet Autel and much easier to use in cars since your not lugging a giant tablet around! Well worth the $110! Bi-direcrional works great! Has coding options too! Updates fast. Sometimes connection takes a minute but not an issue! Buy it and you'll love it! Takes some time to learn the software.

Great tool to add to the arsenal!
I purchased this tool last week and I have got to say it has definitely earned a place in my toolbox. The app was easy to download, the instructions included in the box allowed me to seamlessly connect the Thinkdiag to my iPhone. I downloaded the software I needed and was able to talk to all the vehicle systems. I am a 20 year Automotive Technician and this tool will probably be my first grab for health reports. No need to lug out the laptop or tablet scan tools, this tool connects to all the vehicle computers. I was able to successfully diagnose an ABS master cylinder sensor issue by looking at live data in the data stream. The update speed when looking at 1 or 2 pids is lightening fast. I couldn't even tell a delay.Pros-small, compact, easy to use, powerful tool in your hand, access to all systems-easy to save data, record data, snap shot or pdf from your phone.-full functionalityCons-sometimes disconnects if you lock your phone or need to take a phone call-not super fast to get connected to the car (not as slow as some snapon tools)-easy to loose/leave in a carThe biggest thing I would try to improve would be to have a spot for a tether off the interface. It's low cost enough that I feel its a must for a technician, especially someone starting out and doesn't have the money to purchase a full fledged tablet device.

Can be challenging to interpret, customer service is the worst
There are some things that are intuitive and some are not at all. I've reached out on several questions and only received one response with a very convoluted answer. Either they don't know what their machine can and can't do or they don't speak English. Needless to say, only buy this if you feel you can get by with no customer service. On the pro side, I was able to use some features like diagnosing cylinder misfire. Although, even that is pretty messed up. On the diagnoses it shows cylinders 0 - 11. So is 0 cylinder 1? Eventually the engine threw a code for one cylinder misfiring repeatedly. Fortunately the engine code indicated the correct cylinder. It was number 11 and the Thinkdiag showed number 10 as the culprit. Another interesting flaw to share, despite using the correct VIN and the Thinkdiag identifying the car as a 2007 Aston Martin DB9, when looking for the rail pressures it looks for a MY08 and then can't read the pressure. How can it know its a MY07 but then try to read rail pressure for a MY08? And since the engines are identical, why can't it read it despite the MY issue? On the good side, it does a nice job of identifying engine codes and has the ability to track down more detail on most of them. Since this requires a yearly subscription I will definitely not renew and instead just purchase a Foxwell NT510 where it has almost all of the same capabilities and no annual fee. I'd encourage anyone looking at this ODB reader to do the same and go Foxwell. I think you'll save yourself a lot of headaches.
