ACDelco Gold 335-1026 (88877236) Alternator

I am so happy to get an *all new* OEM alternator. This should last me another 15 years. I've never been happy with re-built units, either from the name brand auto stores or what the local mechanics provide. The price I paid for this new ACDelco was no more than the best rebuilt I could find. And it was so easy to install, it only took me 30 minutes to remove and replace - only 2 bolts and 2 wires. It saved me about $150 in parts and labor if I had my mechanic do it. UPDATE: Well it's been nearly 10-1/2 years and the alternator is still working great. (knock on wood) I read some of the recent reviews about the physical condition of the alternators that people received. I too, received my alternator in a beat up ACDelco box - not securely repacked by Amazon. I was surprised to receive a package from Amazon in this condition. After opening the box and inspecting the unit, I notice the pulley and fan blade had a lot chips and scratches, as if it had been dropped multiple times on to concrete. The damage did not happen while in the box. It was boxed by someone in this damaged condition. At the time, I never had a problem with anything I ordered from Amazon, so I figured someone just made a mistake. I returned it to Amazon and reordered another one. The replacement arrived, again in the Delco retail box with no extra padding from Amazon. This box was also pretty beat up too, but not like the first one. I took out the alternator and it looked OK, so I installed it, and it worked fine. I assumed the first beat-up unit was a fluke experience. And I was so happy about my purchase to get a new ACDelco unit at a good price, I told my brother. Then he ordered a new ACDelco alternator for his car. His unit arrived in a retail box in worse shape than mine. And the alternator looked like it had been intentionally and forcibly thrown down on to concrete several times. He took it to his mechanic to install and mechanic laughed at the condition and discovered that the pulley and fan had been hit so hard that it had bent the main shaft. It was unusable. Then I knew that my bad experience was not an isolated one. How can ACDelco be shipping out so many damaged parts? And the units are damaged before they are put into the boxes. They know the damaged items will get sent back and they'll have to provide refunds. Although, I'm still very happy with my alternator. If I have to buy another one, I'll double & triple check it, before I decide to keep it/ install it. On a side note, I read the page on Amazon where the alternator is shown, and there is No information about the warranty! There is only a note to "Call the manufacturer". That is very strange!

I always choose AC DELCO for my car. Easy install and my Bonney is just humming down the road. Very good price compared to what my mechanic was going to charge :-)

a/c delco makes my car new again

Three stars & here is why. We paid extra for overnighting as we could not find anything that was not "remanufactured" locally. The AC DELCO altenator box looked like it was drug in from several states over (not on a flight like an overnight shipping purchase) Outer Amazon box was perfect so it left the warehouse like that. You just could feel an impending sense of DREAD opening the box up. Indeed my senses are still functional, as I was not disappointed. The altenator looked like it had been dropped or THROWN onto concrete 50 times & was bent all to pieces on the pulley. Obviously that is not a good idea to put something on like that, as then the car would have eaten a serpentine belt a day with the damage it had with the pulley bent, sharp places instead of smooth. Just a disaster. So as we are trying to figure out how to pay for another to come overnight (we needed this car back ASAP) & return this disaster back to Amazon, up wanders my Dad & we show it to him. As he "tut tuts" about the mess we got, he says "Hey, Did you guys know that back in the day, altenators did not come with new pulleys?" So as we kind of mull THIS over, he snatches up the old one & the new one & we perform some surgery right at the work bench. So we go off with the new altenator & the old not messed up pulley. Otherwise the car goes NOWHERE until the replacement gets here. I fully believe this was someone else's return or something but Amazon can & usually does a better presentation than that kind of shipment. Price was good. Car running, That's all I can say.

Brand new Delco-Remy much better choice than a rebuilt alternator, price was about 50% less than the local auto parts store!

I was quoted a price of $200 for this alternator including installation. I purchased it for $36 from Amazon. The box was messed up, but the alternator was brand new. Including installation, I was out $96. A used alternator from the local auto salvage yard would have cost me more than I paid for this unit. Amazon has saved me money time after time. I could not have been more delighted with this purchase. The alternator is working flawlessly.

Unfortunately I installed the alternator four months after purchase and my return window is already closed. Obviously the ACDelco package got dropped very hard prior shipping resulting in a warped and bent pulley - useless, and the drive belt cracked, couse I didn't noticed this until the engine ran. The alternator itself seems to be of a good quality even if it's made in Mexico.

Ordered this brand new, original equipment Delco alternator for my 1994 Oldsmobile 88. Item arrived as described in excellent condition. Also ordered OEM Delco serpentine belt. Both fit perfectly. Highly recommend.
