Protect your life savings - In a Long-Term Care Crisis - A Must Read Book - Highly Recommend!
This is—hands down—one of the best financial books I've ever read. If I could give a copy to every single family member of an Alzheimer's patient, I would. Without a doubt, this book should be in every neurologist’s office across the country. This book explains (in plain English, no less) how to provide income security and asset protection for you or your loved one. It also explains, in easy-to-follow detail, what it takes to qualify for Medicaid. That alone is worth the price of the book because, believe me, Medicaid does not tell you this stuff. For example, Medicaid said that my father's income was too high to qualify for any help and that I had to "Spend Down" his accounts. After reading this book and applying these strategies, he does qualify. That single factor is saving my family $6,800 a month. It doesn't matter if you are caring for an aging parent or pre-planning your own needs, you really need this book. I cannot stress to you enough how important it is to read this book and check out the author’s website.NOTE: For all of the caregivers out there, yes, sometimes Alzheimer's patients can become mean or abusive. There is affordable help available, even if you think your loved one does not qualify for financial reasons. You don't have to choose between your personal safety and your life savings! Please read this book!NOTE #2: The time to read this book is BEFORE you or your loved ones begin struggling through an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. This should be your very first step upon leaving the doctor’s office. You will be far better prepared and will make fewer costly, upsetting mistakes if you read and plan early.

Simple to understand financial planning concepts to protect you and your family during retirement
I like how David takes a very complicated and scary topic and breaks it down in simple terms, so that you don't have to be a financial advisor to understand what he's talking about. I agree with his book's premise that the government entitlement programs are under a huge strain, and will only get worse as the baby boomers hit retirement. As a result , David essentially points out that we need to take control of our own retirement destiny rather than wait to see if the government will be there to take care of us or not. His book illustrates some great financial planning ideas to help us help ourselves and our loved ones. In general this is a great book for anyone who is going to retire someday, but it is absolutely an essential read for anybody who's friends or family might be facing the possibility of Long Term Care or depend on Medicaid at some point during retirement.

Highly recommend!
I've worked with Dave for over 3 years on long-term care planning for his clients. Dave is highly knowledgable related to Medicaid qualification and asset-protection related to long-term care expenses. This is an important book topic to know about written by one of the experts in the business!
