The book was as described.
I liked that the book was as described. As as a matter of fact, it appeared to be brand new rather than “like new.”

Beautiful and inspiring
I'd highly recommend this devotional book both for those of the Christian tradition who appreciate the natural world and those who are simply lovers of the earth. I'm using it for daily readings and have loved it so far.

I'm loving it.
I have yet to read the entire book, as I am still on the Wind section, but I am loving it.I find it very soothing and full of beautiful thought provoking insights as well as quotes from other mystics. There are also practical applications for Christian prayers and meditations based on the four elements.I'm happy with this purchase.

Superb snapshot of Celtic Christianity
Celtic Christianity at its best. Each chapter Is dedicated to an element: water, wind, earth and fire. Each chapter includes quotes about the element, discussion of the element and how it applies to our life, questions for contemplation or journaling, detailed instructions on praying with each element, ideas for Lectio Divina, and ends with a prayer written by Paintner. I would classify Water, Wind, Earth and Fire as devotional.I read this book because I feel drawn to Celtic Christianity. It was a joy to read, Paintner writes some beautiful prose, and it nourished my soul as well. I highly recommend it.
