OEM Quality!
As part of replacing the timing chain and guides, the chain tensioner is a must. There are cheaper alternatives, however, I am not going to risk failure for $35.

search for "Mod Mini tensioner" and he a good video on how to replace it yourself
Unlike the picture, it's a shiny, new in box part. I replaced the part and it fixed my timing chain rattle, my engine runs so much smoother. On youtube, search for "Mod Mini tensioner" and he a good video on how to replace it yourself. Pretty easy to install, I wish I had done this months ago.

Excellent part..
Very happy with this purchase. I replaced the old original part because of age..After fitting this tensioner the engine sound changed to a perfect tick over.

Quality part. Quick & easy job
My Mini cooper 2005 was running great but if I restarted the car once it was warm, sometimes after starting the car, I could hear a rattle coming from the timing chain.Turning the engine off and on again always fixed the problem, but I did suspect the timing chain tensioner. So I ordered the part, lifted the car, removed the front driver wheel (RHD), unscrewed the 17mm bolt (oil will not drip out much), took the old tensioner out, put new one in place, screw everything back... et voila. 20mn work possibly saved me a timing chain failure and many €€Issue fixed.

Removed the rattle noise
Removed the noise from my engine. If you have a rattle this definitely is worth a try before replacing the chain. If it doesn’t work, then the chain needs changing. Would be worth seeing how much stretch you have, but as a temporary fix it will do the job.

Replacement camchain tensioner cheaper than a broken engine!
Replaced the existing cam chain tensioner fitted to my r53 Mini Cooper S, appears to be working fine now, Febo Bilstein are a decent make so should be ok issues with quality.
