Very good! Study, smart design
I tend to run warm and always need fans nearby, and this one is perfect for a desk. It looks great, operates quietly, and pushes an impressive amount of air for its small blade size. However, it’s designed for personal use, so you’ll need to keep it fairly close to feel the airflow. I keep mine about 18 inches away on my desk, and it works perfectly in that setup. The design prevents it from blowing document on my desk. Keep in mind that this fan won’t cool a room, other people —it’s really a "personal" fan. If you’re looking for something to use next to a stationary bike or to cool multiple people, this isn’t the right choice. But for desk use in a small area where the fan is no more than two feet away, it’s excellent. There are two speed settings. The low setting is almost silent but doesn’t produce much airflow unless you’re extremely close (12 inches or closer). The high setting is much more effective for desk use. Bonus points for the stylish retro green color—I love it!

Great Fan
I got this for my desk at work. It may be small but it works well and helps keep me cool when I need it to. Small so it doesn’t take up a lot of space.

These fans run strong, order one size smaller than you normally would
Very powerful for its size and current draw, which is a good thing as I normally have issues with fans this size being inadequate. For the first time in this barren wasteland of a scorching hot desert I call home, I'm using a fan setting other than "max." Don't get me wrong, it doesn't have the surface area to move large amounts of air (so don't count on it being an air blower/extractor) but it certainly excels in delivering a focused stream of high velocity air for personal use (read: one person, and directly to the face). So I ended up dimming it to 75% of its low-speed setting which moved enough air and made very little sound (a very slight motor hum if you have 20/20 hearing, which could be user error as my dimmer clearly says "lamps only"). I still would have to knock it down one star on the noise level, as it is much louder than anticipated. Do keep in mind my frame of reference here is a 30" old-school Panasonic pedestal fan that is absolutely silent on low (and extremely effective) but is far too heavy and takes too much space. But when I'm looking the smallest size fan of a long line of options, I assumed quiet meant exactly that. The sound is not a faint "white noise" hum but more along the tone of a distant hair dryer on low. Am I being too picky? That's why I bought this and not a Walmart special for a fraction of the price, which btw, is quieter than this fan too. The front grill was rattling upon delivery (one of the mounting tabs needed to be bent, and they're not easy to bend! So I'm not sure how it missed QA/QC as everything else on the fan is absolutely solid, so I didn't have the heart to rate it any less than 5 on sturdiness and chalk off the rattling grill to my bad luck) so I ended up removing it as I found that it distracted from the clean design of the body which is why I was drawn to the Vornado Mini Classic to begin with. I then sharpied in a white spiral on the fan blade center to complete the aircraft jet engine look (which I couldn't un-see every time I look at the profile of my white colored fan with the front grill off) and of course, so ground personnel unaware of a running fan with no front protection don't get any...err...injuries? At the speed I'm running it at (75% of low speed) you can stop the blades with your fingers without feeling a thing (that or I have no nerve endings on my fingers). Pro-tip: If you're in the unlikely case that you need to make this fan weaker (as there is no smaller size than this in the Classic range, this is the smallest!) you can remove the rear cone-piece that helps duct incoming air to the more efficient areas of the blade (source: user manual) this will make the air-stream diffuse a bit and may knock down the strength of it to your liking. It's worth noting that I use this fan just for airflow in an air conditioned room set to just a hair shy of pneumonia degrees F. All in all, this is a great problem to have, as you can easily choke excess fan performance but you can't overclock it if it's not powerful enough to begin with. And it looks beautiful!

Great desk or bedside unit!
I had one of these before and it disappeared so I bought another one because it's so adjustable, quiet, easy to move and locate in a variety of spots where you expect to be a while for an extended time. I had it in one of the cubbies in my headboard and would run it at night to keep my head cool in summer and supply white noise. I may get one for my desk too because the summer is supposed to be hot. Even with A/C you sometimes need a little more air circulation to actually feel cool. This just hits the exact spot you want. If you take your hands and spread your fingers about 4" apart, that's about the size of this fan. And it's a Tornado so it's durable. Even packable if necessary. And it doesn't look like some big honkin' fan taking up the room!!

Love the design, functionality left a lot to be desired, maybe defective?
I have a Vornado V8, which I really love. So, when I found the need for a more compact, smaller fan, this V6 model seemed like a no-brainer. I also liked the fact that this model was offered in all kinds of nifty colors. So I ordered it in the Blue Bliss, which turned out to be a perfect mach for my bedspread. I was a little surprised at just how small this model was, I expected it to be a little larger. I love the design of these Flippi fans, they are very sleek, attractive and I like the fact that they can be swiveled vertically. I loved the size, I loved the color and I loved how quiet it was on "low." Unfortunately, that's where the love ended. On low I found that the air flow was almost imperceptible. If I was more than a couple feet away, I felt nothing. I had purchased it to keep on a nightstand to blow across the bed. When I tried it on "high", I was surprised at how noisy it was, with a loud rushing sound and noisy rattling. There was no way we could sleep with this running, so it's going back. I'm hoping ours was just defective, but based on the large amount of used ones being offered in each color at a discount by Amazon Warehouse, I'm suspecting that it may be a design flaw in these V6 models. My much larger V8 moves a lot of air and does not rattle like this one. All in all, although I loved the design and features of this model fan, the functionality for our purpose was severely lacking. I would highly recommend checking out the larger V8 model if you are looking for effective air flow. If you want something very quiet. and will have it sitting on a desk blowing right into your face, then this one on set on "low" may be for you. Also, perhaps others won't have the same noisy rattle on "high" that ours did. I rely heavily on customer reviews when I go to purchase an item, and I know others do, as well. I hope you have found the information I have provided to be helpful.

Great for office or home desk
2nd purchase! Love love this. Quiet, but great wind. Someone at worked liked my other one more than I did, but they are reasonably priced so I just picked a fav color this time!my original lasted 4 years with no issues , still worked wonderfully! Doesn’t vibrate the shelf, smooth running.

Great little fan!
Perfect for what I needed! If you are looking for a fan for an entire room, look somewhere else. This is the perfect little fan for a bedside table or your desk. It creates a good breeze for its size and isnt very loud. The fan can be angled to various heights. It has a forward facing control so no trying to reach behind it to turn it off or on. Its a great little fan!

Noisy and not much output. Switch is horrible.
Vornado needs to fire every one of their engineers and start over with fresh new innovative motivated people. This fan vibrates and makes lots of noise, but worst of all the output is just pathetic!!!!! The off on switch is just dumb too and is hard to operate. I have 4 other fans from a different manufacturer priced about the same or less than this one about the same size or even smaller that are whisper quite and put out 10 times more wind output. I have 2 of these Vornado fans, both perform the same, terrible. Vornado is trying to live off a past reputation from way way back, but this is a far cry in performance from those yonder years. Just pass on this company until they can get their act together again, if ever. Doubtful.

Compact Fan
This is a good compact fan, I have it on a shelf over my desk, pointed downwards. On the lower settings the noise is fine. On the highest setting I think it would be too loud for regular use. It can move quite a bit of air. It does what I wanted it to and it has a nice design.

A wee little fan with lots of power
It’s cute and small and blows a nice stream of cool air. It has two speed settings and I like how you can adjust the direction. Definitely helped me sleep during a massive heat wave. It’s very quiet which is a major bonus.
