Quality Grill Parts Baskets
These are expensive. But, so far they are standing up. I've indirect cooked with hot fires about 8 times since getting them. And I've done birds, roasts and fish with the longest cooks being the whole birds. So far they are barely discolored from the heat. No complaints. I'm looking forward to using them for a long time. They are definitely a higher gauge steel than the Weber product. So far these are worth the extra price.UPDATE: still going strong after 1 year of using them often in my Weber. Sure they show some wear from being heated by the charcoal but they are not degraded in any way. One advantage of these is that it is much easier to do indirect grilling now and that has changed how I grill many vegetables, meats and fish. I've even been able to do a reverse sear in my Weber. Awesome.

Superior build quality
Wow! I'll be honest, I'm typically skeptical about after market products being better than original manufacturers versions but in this case, there is truly no comparison. I use my Weber 22" kettle grill extensively in all but the absolute dead of winter. I prefer to use charcoal baskets, as I feel it gives me better control over the grill, allowing me to use direct or indirect heat as needed but also the ability to easily move the coal basket if for some reason I should have to. Over the past several years I've gone through a few sets of the name brand charcoal baskets. When my last set recently gave out I though I'd give these a go. Relatively more expensive, its true, but there is little doubt in my mind that these baskets will go the distance. Top quality construction, which is evident the moment you pick one up. They weight substantially more than the $14 variety that are more common and these are easily twice a thick, while at the same time using a quality stainless steel rather than just a aluminum/tin type metal. Don't hesitate to purchase these you won't be disappointed.

Heavy Duty Enough
Yep, these are built much heavier than are Weber's charcoal baskets. I was pleasantly surprise at how sturdy these are. Now, I wonder why they cannot make them as one solid piece (well, two solid pieces, since they come in pairs). Really, what is the benefit of their coming apart? Why are manufactured so they come apart when you pick them up and clean them? Now, if you really want a HEAVY DUTY charcoal basket (one that you can bring into the afterlife with you), check out this guy on eBay who makes them out of welded steel plate. Now, those are heavy duty!

Built like tanks
In an online shopping word full of cheap junk, these clearly were built with longevity in mind. I bought a new 26 inch Weber kettle and ordered these to go with them because I know how poor the Weber baskets are (see photos). FYI, the baskets shipped with the 26 inch kettle as the same size as the 22 inch kettle. As you can see in the picture the heavy duty basket is nearly twice the weight of the Weber basket. They feel extremely solid especially compared to the Weber that can be described as flimsy at best. The only thing noticeable is the the heavy duty baskets are definitely smaller compared to the Weber baskets. They are a half inch shorter and narrower. This might not seem like a lot but the heavy duty baskets fit inside the Weber baskets. This won’t stop me from giving them five stars because I’m expecting to get a ton of use on them. I will update this review in the future.

Nice heavy duty charcoal containers
My old Weber grill's charcoal containers became so warped and thin I decided to replace them. I looked around the net and settled on these - good choice. They do seem to take longer to get started than the old ones - I use 5 minutes over a gas flame to get a good start and then about 10 minutes of drawing with lid on before I start grilling. I was using natural charcoal but have gone back to brickets, the reason being that if I tried to reuse saved natural charcoal, these containers were extremely hard to relight because the old ash was difficult to shake out. I don't have same issues with brickets. I suppose I could dump used charcoal and start with fresh but I like to economize

Heavy, built to last, and beautiful. Just stunning.
These things are built like a tank.Heavy, thick stainless steel with mechanical joins (no welds). You could use one for self-defense, and still have the other left over for grilling. The metal is even polished. It is very clear that this was a labor of love for an obsessive individual.I can't imagine how they could even be improved, which is amazing to me because I can almost always find something to pick on. Even the price (at the time of this writing) is extremely reasonable.Highly recommended. You will not be unhappy with this purchase.Sean Logue, 2016

Product is worse than the original weber product
Was suspicious of the quality of the product when I first received it as it did not seem to be as heavy-duty as the description suggests. After using it for a couple of months, my suspicions have been confirmed. This is more flimsy than the weber original product that this was supposed to replace, I could have purchased 2 of the weber products for the same money. don't trust these people!!

Mechanical Design Issue
These have a mechanical design issue after using them for the first time. The bottom expands out after cooling and causes the basket to sit at an angle when used again. You cannot fix/bend the bottom of the basket because it over laps the outer part of the frame and cannot to bent back into the basket.I have to turn the basket over and put a brick on it to keep the bottom from expanding out from the front perimeter. It needs to be redesigned to have the bottom cut to fit inside the perimeter of basket and bent slightly inward to allow for heat expansion and have Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Charcoal Baskets for Weber Grills sit on the outer perimeter of the basket.I WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE METAL ONES AND HAVE THEN SIT UPRIGHT FOR PROPER CHARCOAL LIGHTING .
