Great sound
wow, what a difference for my cheap balalaika which came with even cheaper strings it looks like. The tones from these strings are really warm and project excellently well! I recommend these.

i’ve purchased two sets of these strings for my balalaika; the first when i received it as a gift a couple christmases ago, and the second shortly thereafter, when the metal “a” string snapped at the tuner just as it did today as i was cleaning the instrument. the first time it broke, i was willing to accept responsibility for it. this time? no, unless my studies stare is that penetrating and harmful (i was merely looking at the headstock when it died).no, the lack of loops at the ends and the non-titanium nylon strings should have been enough, but the symbolism of this snapping is good enough for me.i will be going to my local guitar shop and putting together my own set of strings from a seller i know and trust.enough of this crap.

Glad I gave these a try - made my "cheap" instrument sound great!
I'm new to the balalaika but have played guitar for many years and teach music. I came across a "souvenir" balalaika with solid spruce soundboard and fiberglass back at a thrift store. My first attempt at restringing this instrument I used classical guitar nylon strings for the two E strings and plain steel .012 guitar string for the high A - the instrument didn't sound very good at all and was not enjoyable to play.I was skeptical of the good reviews for this Roosebeck Prima set of strings, but felt it was worth a try and what a difference they make! My "cheap" instrument has come alive and sounds amazingly good now. I absolutely will purchase another set of these when I need them again.

Not as expected
I read the reviews so I wasn't surprised to receive 2 "titanium" (nylon) strings that had no loop and one metal string (which doesn't exactly have a loop but rather a ball end). What I didn't expect is that they'd be exactly the same as average guitar strings. Had I known that I would've just ordered high quality guitar strings rather than these.
