Protease is an enzyme whose catalytic function is to breakdown proteins. They are also called proteolytic enzymes. Undigested proteins can build up in the body and putrefy. These undigested proteins can lead to many unwanted and serious problems in the body. Persons deficient in protease may also have an alkaline excess, which can lead to a multitude of calcium metabolism issues, such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, gouty arthritis, degenerative disc problems, bone spurs, fibromyalgia and ligament disorders.
