Let me address the cost first and foremost: Right now, because of the situation in Ukraine, and coming out of the Covid lockdowns, freeze-dried emergency food is expensive. Having said that, these packages are at market price or a little lower for the amount of product you are getting.These are not gourmet chicken tenders. These are freeze-dried pieces of raw chicken. The freeze-drying process will make the meat a little tougher than normal. You can mitigate that toughness by soaking them long enough in water or brine. If you don't soak them long enough, you're going to end up with tough spots where the meat hasn't fully rehydrated. Start soaking in the morning to have them ready to cook by the evening. In an emergency, meat is going to be a very scarce resource. That protein is super valuable to the human body. Stop buying cans of potato soup mix and make sure you have some meat proteins for your emergency food supply. Having plain chicken like this allows you to control the flavor, sodium and sugars while cooking. Some of the freeze-dried food on the market right now is horrible and the sodium levels will cause bloating and gastrointestinal issues like you wouldn't believe. Not this stuff. This is plain, raw chicken. Buy some for your emergency food supply and learn how to use it. There you go.

Considering there are practically no options for freeze dried chicken that has no seasoning or other preparations this was pretty good. Will it be the greatest chicken tenderloin you ever had? No.I rehydrated some of the tenders, egged, dredged in breadcrumbs and fried them and they were pretty good. Dry, but good. It took way longer to rehydrate them than I would have thought but then again, if the SHTF this will be a small inconvenience. The ones I seasoned and grilled were less successful and I didn't have enough to try with other preparations. Maybe with a sauce they would be better.While I think this has a purpose, I think I'll stick with canned chicken for the price, texture and ease of use.

This is a wonderful company to purchase freeze dried foods from. The taste is great and it will last years unopened.

I haven't actually tried it yet but I've had other freeze dried meats before and I have little doubt that this will be a crowd pleaser. It's a great way to build your food storage a little bit at a time!

It only takes a few minutes to prepare before cooking and then it's just like any other piece of chicken.
