The explanations given by Dr. Russell A Barkley were so on point and it felt as if he knew exactly what was wrong with me, until I mustered the courage to accept that these were symptoms of ADHD that I had gone through without any idea my entire lifetime. After quenching my procrastinating mind I have reached as long as Chapter 5 as of now. This book in the beginning chapters itself helped me layout most of the symptoms that I have from this genetic disorder in the most detailed manner possible. I have decided that I will have to seek professional help for this developmental impairment and this list of details will help me communicate my issues as clearly as possible. Review: Clear, Conscise and Comprehensive!! - It took a while for the book to arrive, but it arrived in perfect condition! The book itself is very well written. It is thoughtful, articulate, and divided into the perfect chapters/topics! Very easy to follow and understand the information presented, but as someone with adhd, it is hard to implement (which is not the book's issue, but mine). Kudos to the author, and thanks desertcart for listing this gem!

Maybe buy it if you’re just curious about ADHD and not actually have it!
A very informative and well meaning book but only if the author considered that no one with ADHD, however motivated, will be able to finish the book, hah!

It's ok
This book spends a lot of time explaining ADHD and less time on giving you actual strategies to deal with it. I feel like it was a waste of money if you already have a decent amount of knowledge about ADHD.

A must have for anyone with, or knows anyone with, ADHD.
As a healthcare professional I can completely vouch for this resource. Dr Barkley is one of the best researchers in this space and his content is easily digestible, relevant and medically up to date. There is a lot of mis information about ADHD, especially in relation to the nurture debate, and so I would recommend this to anyone as a starting point.

Thank you Dr. Barkley for producing such a quality book and helping raise awareness of ADHD worldwide. For everyone who is interested to know what ADHD is for real, discerning facts from fiction, this book is for you. I really appreciated the actionable strategies provided. I will try them for sure.

A positive must read for anyone who thinks they might have ADHD.
Confirmed my thoughts that I have ADHD. Rather than being scared and ashamed now, this book has taught me about all the positives of having ADHD (there are many). So many helpful tips / signposting or where to seek help for the challenging traits. Valuable education about the types of medication and what they could potentially do. Easy to read (although I did go into hyperfocus mode when reading this which helped!). ADHD may not be as scary as you think :) (Another helpful place to turn to is YouTube. A channel called, How To ADHD. Short and engaging videos, perfect for people with Attention Deficit, made by soneone with ADHD.)
