Slim, but informative glimpse of Hofmann as more than "The Father Of LSD"
These last writings of Albert Hofmann, show that, first and foremost, he was a serious scientist. Anyone familiar with works such as "The Botany and Chemistry Of The Hallucinogens" (co-authored with Richard Evans Schultes) would be well aware of this. What is interesting in this volume are his meditations on the Scientific "reality" and the Personal "reality" and the interdependence of each. A good insight into the whole man.

LSD and the divine Scientist; the chemists point of view.
It is excellent to read this very scientific chemists personal perspective on the uses and his hopes and possibilities for societies uses for the entheogenic substance that he isolated and experimented with after inadvertently experiencing his discovery. The translation is very readable and Mr. Hoffman's thoughts are succinct and hopeful. The appended writers also nicely describe his character and love of life which inspires their admiration and friendship. A good read that does not contain any excesses. I wanted more but am satisfied that this book is well written and not excessive in content or wordiness. I think this book is an important, scientifically well stated work of art on the subject..

A true artist
Any thing Albert has to say is generally without advocacy.. That is a real breath of fresh air to a scene that has been so polluted by a long list of bad players..
