Bondhus 10687 Set of 7 Balldriver Screwdrivers, ProGuard Finish, sizes 1.27-5mm

Have had a set of Bondhus angle drives for decades. Long enough for the smaller ones to ‘round off’. Needed a set for my recalcitrant 3D printer that were straight and had a grip. Quality a little lower (small sizes came pre-warped), but still appears to still be good grade.

Great set. Very useful for adjusting my wife's wheelchair.

If you’re like me (and hopefully you’re not) you’ve accumulated dozens of sets of hex wrenches over the years and you have a terrible time keeping them all together and organized. Do I spend an afternoon finding all my hex wrenches and organizing them, or do I just buy another set? Of course I buy another set! And my thought process is: if I buy a nice set with handles it’ll help me keep them organized. Well, so far it’s worked. I came across these drivers on Amazon (I had never heard of Bondhus before) and I liked the looks, I liked the price, and I liked the fact they were made in the USA. And they come with a lifetime warranty to boot. They are made from a custom blended steel called Protanium High Torque Steel. Admittedly, I’m no material scientist so I don’t know how much of this is just marketing and how much is real science, but I read enough of their literature to realize they really use this as a discriminator amongst other competitors. Here’s my opinion: I’m sure it’s no worse than other steels, and if Bondhus is trying to set themselves apart and try new things with the steel they use, then that’s a good thing. Plus, if they can do this and still sell a good product at a good price, then I’m all for it. I’ve only used some of the larger sizes so far and the handles felt nice in my hands. I can’t make a comment on how the really small drivers felt (other reviewers say they are way too small), but I think that would actually be a nice thing to help prevent over tightening the fastener or breaking the tool. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.

Very good quality tool set here. I have used the crap out of them, from RC on up to heavy applications like MTB, MX and Auto. They are still sharp and strong. My only complaint is the hard plastic handle that they put on the smallest 3 drivers. They are not comfortable and slip in your hand at times. The small ones also have a LOT of flex in them. I guess that's not really a bad thing, but annoying none the less. All in all, great quality tool set for an awesome price, especially if you don't have to pay sales tax. I bought these to work on my 3D printers. They are the right size and can handle the torque I need to apply without breaking or twisting. I have bought other balls drivers and the ball snapped off right away! I especially like the fact that these are made in America too! The handles are comfortable, for the most part. I say this because as the size gets smaller so does the handle as one may expect, but when they get down past 2 mm the handles get really small. I just wish they were a little bigger but that’s just my personal preference. They are great quality and as a mechanic for most of my life I highly recommend this product!

Bondhus tools are high quality. This set was going to hang on my wall in screwdriver organizers but the smaller sizes fell through the holes. I kept them in the plastic carrying bag instead. I like the ball ends as you can work at a slight angle and still get the fastener out. I have a really old set of Bondhus SAE ball drivers and this set is the modern metric version of those. I have the socket hex drivers for the larger stubborn fasteners but this set will work great for the smaller sizes or less stubborn fasteners.

These are the best ball-end hex drivers made. Some reviewers say they don't make a tight fit to the screw. Well these are BALL END drivers. If you want a very secure fit buy FLAT END drivers. These ball end drivers are designed for easy and fast assembly and disassembly of hex head screws. Ball ends by their nature only contact the inside of the hex socket at a few points but they allow misalignment up to about 20 degrees. Flat head driver do make perfect surface to surface contact with the socket but do not allow for any misalignment and are a little slower to use. Buy the angle or T handle flat hex wrenches if you need to apply a lot of torque. Some times I need to get one of those drivers to "break" a locked in screw but these work for the usual cases.

Excellent quality build. Comfortable rubberised grip suitable for long builds. Tight tolerance when measured with digital calipers- within 0.01mm. Much less expensive than to buy equivalent set direct in Australia. The lifetime warranty is a nice addition, but not sure that it will be needed.

I bought these to replace a set that I had to return because of a breakage. These are much better, and appear to be working well. The only small criticism is the smaller sizes have a habit of bending if you don't store them flat. The steel used doesn't spring back into its original shape all that well. Probably not an issue for normal use because you shouldn't be applying too much torque to fasteners with the smaller sizes anyway.
