Installed my first one and it takes the bad taste out completely. Bought another housing, one for sediment and one for charcoal.Now it is clean, no dirt and great tasting. Did all the plumbing work myself, no problems or outside help. My suggestion isto have two like I do, then you know that you are doing the best job. I bought a year's supply of the charcoal.Only need about 2 a year (depending) for the sediment filter. If they flush the fire plugs, we have to change the filter becauseit stirs up the mud and rust in the pipes, but not our water heater. The sediment is caught first by the filter, and then taste isprotected by the charcoal. Good going Amazon guys. You stock everything I need.

We bought to get rid of the rotten egg smell in our well water. We bought 4 different filters, this was the only one that really worked, and it was the cheapest also. Lasts us about 2 weeks but we keep buying them, nearly eliminates the terrible rotten egg smell of our well water. 2 filters a month is still cheaper than most city water!

Save money by buying filters online and changing them yourselves. This was bought as a backup when we need to change the current one in a couple months. Great price and same exact model that we needed. We have a spring fed water system so I like the carbon wrapped style. We have a 3 filter system and this is the first filter it goes through.

I've been using this type of filter for about 20 years for a sulpher/iron smell and taste. Yes, these filters last about a month, longer in the winter. If you put the dirty filters out in the sun until they are completely dry, you can reuse them. If the filter is heavily stained, then I just throw it out.

The water started smelling a little bit so we changed the filter. Use a new one of these about every 6 months. Be sure to wash out the filter housing between filter changes and be careful to do it with clean hands!
