Great to keep batteries out of the garbage and landfills.

Make sure you read the instructions. You have to send it back within a year and the battery terminals have to be taped to prevent shorts. Make sure you put the date you received the kit. We have 5 people in our house and more than average number of electric gizmos requiring batteries. It took us 10 months to fill our last one. A normal family should need a smaller kit than 1/2 gallon.

It's a little smaller internally than expected due to some insulation inside the bucket. Just to clarify, you don't have to tape the ends of typical Duracell - Energizer D.C.AA.AAA alkaline or zinc carbon batteries. You have to tape Lithium-ion battery and button sized watch batteries. There are instruction sheets with pictures so it's easy to tell them apart. This was for work, were I had a fair sized box of batteries waiting that totally filled this bucket. Return shipping instructions are easy to follow. Will be ordering a larger one. This size should be fine for typical home use with battery from remote controls, smoke detectors, flashlights.

This company did all of the work for safety and shipping regulations. It's a lot to read. And it's a lot to figure out if you don't have the professional background to match. I would have rated 5 stars but I feel this is very expensive for the size. Otherwise, everything else seems of good quality. In the future, I'll be attending the next local hard to recycle event.

Nice product, it comes with everything you need to recycle batteries properly. It is small, so plan ahead if you’re recycling a large amount of batteries.

When I purchased this recycling box I was pretty excited that I wouldn't be dumping batteries into the landfill anymore. My excitement soon faded. I opened the box and read through the instructions and found there are batteries that cannot be recycled in this container There was supposed to be a bag that you placed int the container but mine did not have it. Recently I decided that I should probably look at the instructions again thinking I needed to make sure what batteries I had placed in the container was ok and if I had missed anything. The instructions state that if you place batteries in the container that are not allowed they will be sent back to you at your cost. This was a little concerning so I sent through to make sure, as best as I could, to remove batteries that didn't qualify. In the end, I think I shouldn't have purchased this product. Too many hoops to jump through. So, I decided to return the container with the batteries I had collected. Their instructions state that I can process the return pickup online. I tried online pickup and was referred to call the 800 number. On the phone with FedEx Ground per the instructions for 45 minutes to schedule a pickup. While this part of the review is tied to FedEx customer service, the instructions did state that you could return online or call. Usually online is much easier and I wouldn't have had to deal with FedEx customer service. I guess in the end it might be easier just to take the container to FedEx yourself and call it good. I would not recommend.
