The State in Early Modern France (New Approaches to European History, Series Number 42)

Worth the money if required by professor
I bought this for college via Kindle. It was required. I read it. You should consider this a "text" book. It is solid in its content, but it falls short in terms of being an interesting read. Depending on your interest, you'll find chapters that you'll probably enjoy reading. There are others though that are as dry as a text book shouldn't have to be. Useful chronology and glossary, well-sourced, well-written. Like I said in the headline; it's worth the money.
