Highly readable-this book is a treasure map which will inspire you to discover a wide variety of musical time periods, as well as many different genres of music. Bob Boilen’s book Your Song Changed My Life provides meaningful insight into a myriad of musical contexts from the somewhat distant past to the present day. It is an inspiration towards a path of personal musical discovery.

Provides new insights into musicians, and pointers to good music
Very enjoyable read for a music-head like me. Even the artists he talked to that I hadn't heard of, or that make music not to my taste, provided interesting discussion points and pointers to interesting music. Some chapters were more interesting than others but overall a great read and now I have a bunch of music to go track down and listen to.
