Playing Solo Jazz Piano

Essential Arranging Reference
Jeremy presents arranging ideas to what seems a complete & comprehensive level. I am primarily using Richards (Exploring Jazz Piano) and Finney (Chord Play) which present many of the same ideas but Jeremy seems to go deeper with more precision and I will be using this as a authoritative reference for years to come!

Unfair return policy
From the description I thought I was receiving a book of jazz pieces. It is one of the most expensive music books and they subtract over $8 on the return. Impossible to see inside these books until you receive them. Very disappointed that they withheld some if the cost. They must be making a great profit unfairly.

Too detailed for me and probably a bit too advanced as well ...
I will simply say this book is not for me as there is no CD and there are hundreds of short examples, it is a bit like a dictionary of jazz techniques. I much preferred a book by Marten Mann on Jazz Piano Improvisation which teaches you blues styles and gives you jazz piano ideas without telling you exactly what to play and comes with a big CD of examples that are incredibly useful. Buy this instead or as well as -- if you can get it -- even though it is weighted on the side of blues. Without blues there would be no contemporary jazz styles. Although I do not really like the techniques prescribed, there are two invaluable pages and they are pp. 6 &7; great advice that I have found very helpful which justifies the £13 I paid for the book including postage.
