Q: Is this suitable for summer or hot weather ?

If you live in Alaska like us, yes, it’s fine for summer, with your summer shoes and tops. They are fleece lined but not wool or very heavy. In winter with long Johns and heavy tops and coats, and gloves or hats, I’m hoping they will work, too because for sweat pants it’s a cute style.

Q: Do they shrink when washed, I ordered my normal size and they're ginormous.

I think they may shrink a little, but not significantly which is a good thing. I can wear a medium bit they are just a little small , Large fits me great! I’m 5’ 7” 180 weight, pants I usually wear a 34” waist and 29” - 30” inseam

Q: What size should i buy if i wear waist size 40 and inseam 32?

Depends on how you like them to fit, but XL is good.
