Very Nice Seat
Impressed with the quality and overall mounting assembly. The mounting bolts are stainless, thread into the fixed toilet seat mounting tabs , and are held down with plastic nuts. The design allows for the seat to be securely tightened down and ease of cleaning. The only odd aspect is that the nuts are two piece, so once the nut has been tightened, the top portion breaks off. Just be careful that the ratchet doesn't hit the toilet once this happens. Other than that, the padded portion is nice with some firmness and the seat stays firmly in the up position, which other seats fail to do so. Have never had a padded seat split, but they have yellowed after a couple of years, so will see how this seat fairs. Considering the quality and the secure mounting, it's worth the extra money.

Seat Comfortable and Secure?
This is the second padded toilet seat I've purchased and is much better than the last one. The last one had the type of attachment that easily removes the seat for washing, but it was a nightmare. It would come loose just from normal use. Also, the vinyl split in two places. This one has been perfect so far. The seat doesn't slide or detach itself from the toilet and so far the vinyl is intact.

A very good padded toilet seat
I never thought Iโd be writing a review about a toilet seat, but here I am! I have been through a lot of them, they seem to be made cheap (although the cost of them isnโt!) and they rip or tear almost immediately upon installation. Also, I found almost all of them donโt โsitโ right on the toilet so when you sit down the seat shifts, which is not a pleasant surprise and causes the, to constantly need to be tightened. I read the reviews on this on and thought โwell itโs pricey and I doubt it will be much better, but Iโll give it a tryโ. I was completely surprised in a good way. Once installed properly it doesnโt slip and slide from side to side and the cushioning is comfortable and hasnโt torn or ripped. Iโm heavy and sometimes have to almost โdrop downโ onto the seat due to muscle issues and this has been a really good buy. Itโs sturdy and helpful. I highly recommend it and also am so glad it comes both padded and in an elongated oval. I kept finding seats that were for round toilets and I havenโt had one of those in years. Highly recommend this wonderfully made product.

Good Toilet Seat, A Few Quirks
This is one of the better toilet seats. Holds up, soft and comfortable. It loses a star because it's a bit difficult to install, not universal like other toilets and the seat doesn't stay up all the time.

Wood core Metal hinges
soft, warmer in winter. Made very well. We ordered 3 to have back up. The vinyl seat always end up splitting on the padded seats after awhile, but we love the comfort so we just replace it. This has great hinges. The plastic ones are horrible, so definitely buy quality like this one with a wood core.

The worst toilet seat in the world.
I have Crohn's disease, so I'm basically a toilet seat expert, and this is the worst toilet seat I've ever had the displeasure of sitting on. It arrived while I was in the hospital and by the time I recovered enough to put it on and discover that it was expensive garbage, the return window had closed. ๐คฌ The installation was the worst I've experienced. It took hours of my literal blood, sweat and tears to get on. It looks simple, but it's not, at least not with my toilet. (Glacier Bay) You can't get the bolts on because there's not enough room between the incredibly long screw and the toilet itself. First I tried removing the top of the bolt, which can just be popped right off. The bolt was still too big. Then I got out my rotary tool and cut off the wider parts of the bolt and it finally fit... but only on one side! ๐คฌ After 2 people fighting with it for hours, and trying a multitude of tools, it was finally on... Mostly. There's a part of the bolt that's supposed to break off to keep it secure, but we couldn't get it to break off on one side. When I finally got a chance to use the toilet seat, it turned out to be hard as a rock and incredibly uncomfortable. It sits you up higher than I expected, which is fine, but the hole seems smaller than standard. The wood core digs into the bottom of your pelvic bone. Spending any amount of time on it is near torture. So now I not only need to find a new toilet seat, but I have to figure out how to get this one off! ๐ญ

The Unusual Hinges Do Not Use Standard Attachment Bolts
This is the first toilet seat weโve ever had that uses unusual hinges. We expected an easy switcheroo of toilet seats: unscrew the existing wingnuts, pull the bolts out of the hinges, switch seats, drop the existing bolts down through the new seatโs hinges, and re-screw the wingnuts. We done it many times in the past. Until we encountered this seat. Where are the holes in the hinges? What are these strange skinny bolts? Whatโs up with this plastic thing that the destructions say is supposed to break to know that itโs tight enough? This was clearly not going to install like every other seat weโve ever used. Those skinny bolts are supposed to screw into the bottom of the hinge, thereby creating something to drop down through the porcelain. The bolts are then held on by the cheap plastic nuts that are apparently idiot-proof. Who ever heard of something breaking to tell you that itโs tight enough? People canโt tell by the tension in their wrench that itโs tight? Whatever. None of this was going to work for our installation because we have a setup that requires longer bolts. So we were just going to take the hinges off the old seat and replace them on the new seat so that we had proper drop-the-bolt-through-the-hole hinges. Unfortunately for us, they broke in the switching process, so we had to order new replacement hinges. In the meantime, we had to install the new seat as directed, so the toilet would be usable. All the hardware looked so cheap that even if we wanted to permanently use the parts the seat came with, we doubted it would last very long. Other than our installation issues, the seat itself is functional but feels cheap. We only got it to fulfill a need, but we donโt feel that it will be a long-term seat and that we will have to replace it periodically. Thatโs why we gave it a neutral rating.

Exceptional and fits SOLIDLY in place! No more cold toilet seat...padded ones don't feel cold!
I finally found a cushioned toilet seat that has the little bars arranged so that they set securely on the toilet rim of my Gilbert toilets. Cushioned toilet seats are NOT cold when you sit, the only reason I like them. This ones locks down tight and is easy to clean around. Strong, steel, not plastic, posts never budge. Vinyl seems heavier than others and not a narrow width where you sit. If you have a large handicapped toilet, this one will fit. The Gilbert has a wider front, so most toilet seats don't have the bars under the seat placed properly and the seat slips sideways off one of the bars. This one's sits solidly in place. A great value for the quality!

Don't waste your money
0 stars. Should have trusted the 1 star reviews. The foam is pointless as it compresses to nothing. So hard to sit on. Save your money

Bad quality
After less than 3 months of use the plastic on the soft seat split open, making it impossible to use. ยฃ45 pounds thrown in the bin!
