A Must Have for your Tomie dePaola Collection

I have been reading Tomie dePaola's books to my children and now my grandchildren since1978. He is a wonderful creative storyteller and you can tell the stories are from his background - from his soul. This particular collection of Strega Nona stories is in a large hardcover book - like an encyclopedia with extra info from the author including a map of the settings in Italy and some recipes too. The CD, in the author's voice, is especially pleasing because he knows how to pronounce many of the special Italian words that I have heard other narrators destroy. It will help you learn how to say them yourself when you read all the other stories. The CD is only of one story in the collection. I have also bought additional individual books in the Strega Nona series because my 3 grandchildren love the stories.(ages 5, 9,and 12) I am of Italian Heritage, 3rd generation in USA so they mean so much more to me. I also love his stories about the Irish side of his family, especially the book "Nana Upstairs, Nana Downstairs" and also "Tom" about his very funny Grandpa. You will be missed Tomie de Paola.
