Nice and compact easy to use and most importantly it cools my bedroom within an hr so I can sleep comfortably , it is a little noisy even in sleep mode hence why I cool the room before I go to bed

This is the 3rd portable air con unit I now have in the house. I also have a 9000BTU and a 12000BTU unit for other rooms. I used this in my WFH office/study which is roughly a 12" by 10" room. Which runs with 3 PCs and numerous monitors, so it gets quite hot. It comes with a hose about 170cm long. Not the longest but just about enough for me to vent out of a window. I did use this with a separate window kit (There one provided works for sash/sliding windows which I don't have). Basically much louder than just a fan, and audible by others on work calls. But less noise than if you were on the a London underground train for example. In terms of noise levels, it's about the same as my other portable air con units certainly no worse. Of course it's more noise than a dedicated unit (with an external unit). I found if you wear noise cancelling headphones/airpods they'll cut out over 90% of the noise. In terms of cooling performance, I found even in the 30c heat outside, running this unit kept my room at a reasonable 22-23c (I didn't want to set lower, but it will go lower). Bought this on offer from under £150, so very happy with it definitely recommend this from my early experiences.

Since the start of this heatwave I have tried to convince myself to try this, finally gave in and bought it. My first thoughts were how effective can a 5000BTU really be. It's absolutely fine for a medium sized room. The cool air kicked in nicely within 2 minutes and is powerful enough to reach me about 4 meters away. So while cooling the room it also does feel like it is instantly cooling you. Very simple to use and does exactly as you hope - cools you down in a way that a fan can't. Noise wise I was pleasantly surprised. It's no worse than my fan. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars really is the pipe setup. It's 6 inches wide and quite hard to control. It's rigid and while trying to stretch it, it does fall out of the attachment. The setup of the pipe was not fun at all and I'm still not really there with it. If you have a sliding up and down window you will not have issues as you get an attachment with it. If you have a window that opens out sideways then you will need a solution. For now I wedged it between 2 hefty candles and just stuck the hose out of the the window with no insulation to keep the outside air from coming in. It still cooled the room nicely with this set up on a 25 degree day. Overall I absolutely am glad to have it, but will seek out a longer more flexible pipe.

It cools you if you seat in front of it. Does not cool an actual room.

Great price for a small portable air con, great for the house or even taking on holiday in the UK. Cools nicely. Only complaint if anything is the adaptor/plate to fit it into a window is for a sash window and there doesn't seem to be any other option.

There is no difference between this and a standard oscillating fan, atleast with a standard fan it has oscillating capabilities. This unit does not blow cold air, just feels similar to the temp of a standard fan. It has a lovely design, easy to put together and the wheels make life alot easier when relocating it however im genuinely surprised it has many good reviews, its just a glorified, overpriced fan with no real capability of cooling air. Had the unit for approx 1 week and i have seen no improvement whether its running for all day, for a few hours or 5 minutes.
