Quality of this item? Hard to tell. The cats enjoyed it too much, and within around 8 months, the thing was shreds. So I call it a success. Definitely buy 1 per cat if you have more than 1 cat. 1 for 2 cats was just not enough. No installation required, just slot both parts together, and put it somewhere safe. Worked well with my two 5-yo medium size domestic short hairs.

Warning: this product will cause a lot of vacuuming and clean-up.Our cats shred through these every few months. I've seen a lot of videos, articles recommending all sorts of materials for your cats scratching needs. I prefer this one.1) Does not snag kitty's claws. I know how it feels when my nails snag on fabric, hair, etc. I couldn't imagine being a cat and a scratching post snags the claws. I haven't seen any of the cats ever get their claws snagged on this scratcher. Trust me, I watch them closely for any signs of trouble.2) It works. Hands down, both cats love this thing. The will go to it to scratch when they feel the need to instead of the furniture, the carpet, the door jams, etc.3) It was very easy to 'train" our cats to use it instead of our furniture and home. All cats are different. Please know I am only referring to what I have experienced with our 2 cats. These two are night and day yet they both agree this is the thing to scratch and this is what keeps their claws healthy.4) It's lightweight and surprisingly sturdy. I can move this with ease whenever I need to vacuum. It is compact enough to not be an eyesore. Yet it can handle the rumble and tumble play of the cats or even sleeping/lounging. One of the cats likes to move it around. It's light enough to allow a soon-to-be 2-year-old kitty the fun of playing with this where ever she chooses.As stated early on in this review ... this scratcher does come with a cost. Your cats, if they choose to use this, will shred this thing in a matter of months. That depends greatly on how often your cat(s) scratches and to what degree. I've tried other scratchers that give off less debris and my cats weren't as happy with them. I believe they actually enjoy the shredding and sounds as well as the feel of the power behind their claws. Go figure!Bottom line: If you don't mind the clean up this might be the perfect scratcher for your kitties. It comes with ready to use catnip to help attract them. It's fun enough to keep them entertained. We will continue to buy these.

These are great for small cats and kittens. I have a petite cat (around 8 pounds) and she LOVES these scratchers. She lays on them just like the picture and she loves to run up and have a good scratch and leap off and keep going. They tip occasionally but I just pick them back up. I keep one against a wall which helps and the other is free standing and tends to tips more often but still not enough to bother me. We have ordered from this seller twice and was very satisfied. They last a long time - we had one for 4 months until my 3 yo tried to use it as a step stool (they can't hold 40 pounds). Overall, very happy and will keep buying these. On a side note - the one that broke we salvaged the unbroken half by just setting it down on the floor and she still likes using it that way.

Didn't last long. My cat sat on it and it broke. !

*Update: I changed my 4 star rating to a 5. After a few weeks my cat got the hang of the scratcher & I caught her scratching away.I bought this lounger for my cat a little over a week ago and now she lays on it all the time. It was super easy to put together, it's just 2 pieces that slide together. As you can see in the pic, I had to tie a feather toy to it to get her interested it as first. She mostly uses it as a lounger rather than a scratching pad because the design is a bit awkward for her. She's tried scratching the top while standing on top, but then it starts to wobble. She's a bit of a larger cat so probably a smaller kitten would be able to use it as a scratcher more effectively. I've found that it's better to be proped up against a wall to keep it steady. All in all it's a great toy for the price.

Works great and is easy to assemble. My cats love perching on top of hit and it has helped them to not scratch the couch as much. It comes with catnip to help encourage them to use the scratcher. It did come damaged a little bit in shipment because it was not shipped in a box but it wasn't a problem.

I mean, my cats love it but it isn’t sturdy enough to support a large cat. One of my cats is 18lbs and as soon as he gets on it, it bends and breaks and then they immediately lose interest. Hopefully it isnt giving him a complex or somethin. Wish I could find a sturdier one

Our new 4 month old kitten who hasn't been overly interested in laying on his cat tree is loving this smaller, simpler perch. He lays on it, climbs under it, chews on the corners, and jumps all around on it when playing. I haven't seen him scratch at it but he might just prefer the jute post he has for scratching purposes instead. Sometimes he manages to tip it over when being rough with it if it's on the carpet but it doesn't scare him and if anything makes him play with it harder. I would suggest this for kittens who may be intimidated by a full cat tree or for anybody who would like a simple perch for their cat that can easily be moved from spot to spot.

We have a Ragdoll, a Maine Coon and a DSH cat who all like to scratch the lounge. We have found since buying these are less inclined to attack the lounge.They enjoy scratching and lying on the "Petstages Cat Scratcher Cat Hammock Cat Scratching Post"

My cat loves this and he always looks so comfortable on it when he’s having a nap.It’s are a brilliant price, value for money , sturdy and easy to slot together. Just a pity they aren’t in stock more often.
