Will it scan 2 1/4" square color slides? (Positives, not negatives.)

I've only used it to scan 35mm mounted slides (2"X2") in the auto mode. However, the scanner is very versatile and probably can scan 2-1/4" color slides in the manual mode. whats the difference between this v600 vs the other v600 thats $75 cheaper?

Can you scan pictures to a sd card ?

First, let me say that this is an excellent scanner. Easy to use, excellent software that isn't too complicated, etc. However, NO, this scanner cannot be operated as a stand alone and it has no built in memory card slot for something like an SD card. This scanner, and most flatbed scanners, are designed to work with a computer as they need software to operate. Many computers, Mac and PC, have built in memory card slots or you can buy a memory card dongle and scan your image to an SD card that way, but you still need to scan to a computer to store on an SD or other memory card.

I have other scanners that suppose to scan to 9600 but that is only to scan negatives or slides not photos. What is the max dpi for photo scans?

It gives the opportunity for optic scan of 9600 dpi, but when you try scanning over 1200 dpi usually you get a message you don’t have enough space for the pic (though I had. Guess it needs screen space).
