Dreadful
Possibly one of the worst books I have ever bought. Terribly written, if you told me it had been written by a child I wouldn't be surprised. Annoyed I had to give it one star.

What a life!
Ignore the recent sneering Guardian review- this is excellent. Glad I pre- ordered.

This book reads like rock and roll
I loved reading this book. As a huge Mary Chain fan I love the fact Bobby still has so much love for the band. Not sure what the guardian was going on about, he writes this book like a rock and roll star he is. Brilliantly written history of his childhood, interesting facts about early bands The Wake and Altered Images. Fantastic section when drummer for the Mary chain. Ends with massive respect for Andy weathersll and the birth of Sreamadelica via acid house. I lived through this era and followed a similar route and musical journey to Gillespie. Brings back memories for me, particularly the raves and ecstasy culture.Captures the spirit of the times and makes me ooze with nostalgia. Primal scream are not my favourite band (still love them though) that accolade goes to the aforementioned Mary Chain and New order but this is probably my favourite biography I’ve read.

Unputdownable
This is Bobby Gillespie's life story from his childhood up to the release of Screamadelica in 1991.I really enjoyed it, and it made me very nostalgic. You get an interesting insight into the music business, and some of Primal Scream's peers such as the Jesus and Mary Chain and other talents such as Andrew Weatherall. Not to be missed.

Not much about primal scream
If you are looking for a book mainy about primal scream then look elsewhere, this book is about Bobby being a punk and is very political.
