I used this antique pine wood stain on a bare pine shelf that looked too pale beside my existing furniture. After sanding the wood and removing all the dust, I applied a thin coat with a lint free cloth. The stain spread evenly and gave the wood a warm, natural colour without completely hiding the grain. I tested it on an offcut first, which was useful because the final shade deepened slightly as it dried. A second light application gave me the richer tone I wanted. It did not leave obvious lap marks, but I worked steadily and wiped away any excess before it became sticky. Once fully dry, I added a clear protective finish over the top. The shelf now matches the surrounding furniture far better. I found the stain easy to control, economical to use, and capable of producing a professional looking result with sensible preparation

The product works on MDF but not as well as real wood. I have applied several coats on my kitchen MDF door and it is slowly darkening.

I have purchased this make of wood stain before but in the oak. I have used it for staining a window ledge which I had stripped of years of paint and repaired. I was pleased with the end results. I have also used to refresh a veneer table top which was losing its colour. I am hoping the antique pine colour will give me a lighter finish on another stripped window ledge. I must give credit to the excellent courier driver, who phoned my mobile to ask where to leave my parcels as my deaf husband did not hear the door bell.

This is a very monotonous colour and covers the grain rather than enhance it. Might as well have painted it. And it leaves a residue, no matter how thinly and carefully you apply it. The residue cleans off easily but then the wood underneath doesn’t have any colour. The wood is very well sanded back so should have been perfect for uptake. Confused.

needed to colour match some new pine with old pine floorboards in my house. I didnt hold out much hope for a great match but anything would be better than untreated boards. So chuffed with how one quick coat - this was untreated and i didn't use a wood conditioner or anything. just need to addd a clear varnish and i think the board will blend well.!

This product is the biggest heap of junk ever i was a grey colour terrible a waist of money dont buy it

I swear by this product! I use it for my crafts that I sell online and have a variety of colours which I often mix together to get the exact shade I want to use. I mix them in an airtight container and use it from there with a paint brush before resealing and coming back to it at a later date. It washes off the brushes with ease and I often wipe the paintbrushes on a antibacterial wipe as my craft room is in our cellar and I bring all the paintbrushes up at the end of my craft session to wash them in the sink, but wiping it with the wipes enables me to put the paintbrushes down without getting it everywhere. It doesn't come out of clothes but I learnt that lesson after splashing myself with it, and now wear an old hoody when staining wood or an apron. Highly recommended!

You cannot call this wood stain as it does not change any colour

Buscaba un tinte para teñir un estante de madera de abeto, que es muy clara, pero sin que oscureciera demasiado. No conocía esta marca; la escogí un poco a ciegas porque me llamó la atención la denominación del color: pino antiguo. Nunca había vista este acabado y aparentemente se adaptaba a mis necesidades. Para aplicarlo basta con seguir las instrucciones (escritas en un tamaño de letra excesivamente pequeña). Se extiende con facilidad con brocha o mecha de algodón y se seca al tacto aproximadamente a los 30 minutos. Cubre perfectamente, pero hay que tener la precaución de ir tiñendo sectores pequeños. A pesar de que la madera era prácticamente blanca, con una mano fue suficiente. No se observan tono anaranjado como comenta otro usuario; quizá sea debido a no repetir la aplicación. El color se parece mucho al que va adquiriendo la madera de pino con el uso y el paso de los años. Para el acabado utilicé aceite de teca transparente, aunque puede usarse, barniz, otros aceites..... El precio es parecido al de otros productos similares. No es necesario aplicar gran cantidad ya que se extiende con mucha facilidad, por lo que cunde bastante.

Before with natural pine, then stained with 2 coats of the antique pine stain. I'd say it turned out pretty good. The stain was almost odorless and easy to use, didnt streak or dye my hands...I might do another coat.
