This was my first time purchasing this and it was really good, and I’d recommend it. It’s not overly spicy, and it has great flavor.

I like this chili paste, though perhaps leans a bit on the salty side. I'm used to something a little spicier and oilier. It's also a little chunky (little bean globs) so if you're looking for a smooth paste this might not be right. But the taste was good!

Adds some spice/heat to dishes but heat is not enough to cover up the taste of the food it is put on. Some hot sauces are all heat, with minimal flavor, covering up whatever they are put on. This condiment adds some "zip" yet still lets the food come through. Have ordered this product several times in the last six months or so, we use it a lot when we make Chinese pearl meatballs, rice noodles, and with most Chinese foods. It is salty though so a little can go a long way if you don't like salt.

Perfect! Got the broad bean paste and I love to use it pretty much exclusively in my spicy pork rolls. It has a beautiful tang with great citrus notes and of course includes the addictive spicy numbness. Make sure you use plenty of that chili oil that it's packed in for maximum flavor!! I'm definitely getting a subscription for this necessary product!

I am happy to say that the product is delicious! Tasted it as soon as it arrived. I’m used to Sambol Oelek which is in short supply right now. It doesn’t taste the same but it’s really good. I’m going to get more of it.

Way too salty and the paste was really thick and too coarse/chewy for me. So I growned up the paste and, bit by bit, diluted it with water till it was the consistency of a sauce. Perfect! Yes, it reduced the heat level but that is easily fixed. And the delicious favor was still there and not overwhelmed by the salt. Chuck.

I have a family member who is very averse to any kind of heat so I was glad to have found this. It still has great umami flavor, and texture. However, if you are looking for anything with a kick or usual heat level of doubanjiang, then is not for you.
