Not a miracle, but a nice surprise
I am an AA woman with relaxed hair and an incredibly dry and flaky scalp, which has been so ever since I can remember. My one blessing is that even though it is dry and flaky, it isn't particularl itchy. I have tried almost everything with limited success to cure my scalp ailment. Coal tar shampoo, Nizoral, various scalp greases and ointments, evoo, coconut oil, garlic oil, tea tree, etc.. I even tried the medical route and my dermatologist gave a prescription for Clobex and Derma-smoothe. Both help a bit but no cure. I especially like the Derma smoothe because it make my scalp clean and free of flakes after washing. The pain was having to wet it and let it sit on my scalp for hours before washing. But lo and behold, the little beasties were back in days. Add to the fact that these medical products were super expensive and weren't covered by my insurance. The only thing that made me able to try these products was the manufacturer offering huge discount coupons.Needless to say I began looking for cheaper at home treatments. Research pointed me in the direction of ayurveda products which lead me to first henna and then neem. I couldn't deal with the pure neem smell so I decided to give this a try. As others have mentioned this is a very thin shampoo but lathers up well after the 2nd go around. But you know, I find that to be the case for all shampoos and since I always rinse, repeat this doesn't bother me.I have to say that for me it doesn't feel great while washing. It doesn't feel moisturizing at all. In fact, my first time using this while in the shower shampooing I thought I was going to have the most terrible time detangling ever in my life. As in, bring out the scissors to cut out the tangles bad time. This is where my surprise comes in. It was just a dream to section off and add my deep conditioner to. Keep in mind this was way before leave in. I wash, deep condition under a dryer for 20 minutes, rinse add then leave in conditioner and other products and roller set, dry under a hooded dryer for 1 hour +.The other surprise? After using this about 3 times so far, I have never had such minimal shedding EVER during a wash process. I am not one to count hairs, but it was definitely noticeable that the shedding was down considerably. Before this I was using Kenra Moisturizing shampoo and it is just the opposite. It feels moisturizing while washing but feels a bit dry/drying upon rinsing and attempting to separate in order to deep condition and it goes without saying that Kenra doesn't do a thing to stem shedding. This also cleans my scalp and rinses out very, very well. With Kenra, sometimes, there would be spots that still had some gross build up that didn't really dislodge during washing. With TheraNeem my scalp just seemed noticeably cleaner. As for the dry scalp. It didn't cure it, which was why I debated back and forth on how many stars to give this. I decided it was unfair to knock off stars for something that medical science can't even cure. Besides which the unexpected surprises somewhat makes up for it. The lack of shedding alone warrants 5 stars. I can say that my scalp seems clearer and cleaner after a wash for a longer period of time, the build up seems to be less & the flakiness seems to take a bit longer to show up and my scalp seems less gross in between washes. So it is working to an extent. Just not cured.

Overview of products for psoriasis relief--starting with this AWESOME shampoo
UPDATE: The below review was written in 2012. As of Oct. 2015, I still use this shampoo about once a week if I need a quick clean of my hair; however, I wanted to also add another tip for psoriasis folks. For the last year or so I've been using Dr. Bronner's Hemp Baby Unscented (as mild of a shampoo as you'll ever find I imagine) and rinsing with vinegar. This has by far been the least irritating to my scalp. I also recently started adding a True Lemon packet to the rinse just to give my hair a nice lemony scent (since everything else is scent-free). Best of luck in your shampoo endeavors!-----------------------------------In writing reviews, I wait until I have been consistently using a product for at least 6 months before I endorse it--just in case something changes, etc. So I can say I almost never write anything about hair and skin products because I have psoriasis, particularly on my scalp, and have never been able to use a shampoo for longer than 1-2 months (if lucky). So I'm pleased to say that I have been using this shampoo for over a year and would not use anything else. If you have psoriasis, I HIGHLY recommend this shampoo. I'm not claiming that it cures the condition, or any of the other claims you might read about tea tree shampoo (or volcanic ash or the other long list of shampoos that have never worked for me); however, this is the only shampoo I have been able to use repeatedly without my scalp retaliating.I wash my hair about every other day, but this is gentle enough to use every day if needed. My scalp goes nuts if I wash any less frequently and as soon as I wash with this shampoo, it calms right down. The feeling afterward is simply "clean." Not tingly or "moisturized" (which for my scalp usually means some kind of conditioner that didn't rinse out completely and ends up irritating the skin) or chemically scrubbed. It simply cleans the hair and scalp without damaging the scalp and making things worse. No Lauryl Sulfate or other harsher chemicals that dry the scalp out and make psoriasis so much worse.I also would like to note that when I started using this, I started to notice after a couple months that my hair was not falling out as much (a really unfortunate side effect of psoriasis). But it took a couple of weeks for my scalp to balance out first--there was a slight increase in shedding (hair and flakes) before it settled down. One thing to note, this shampoo alone is generally enough for a clear scalp, but I have been able to even take it a step farther and add a little moisture into the mix without affecting my scalp. I would recommend the Theraneem Scalp Therape Conditioner after using just the shampoo for a month or so (that way you get a feel for whether the shampoo is working before adding something new to the mix). The peppermint is mild and does not leave the overwhelming sensation like tea tree oil would. I switched to the Moisture Therape shampoo temporarily, and it worked pretty well, but the Gentle Therape really seems to be the best for controlling psoriasis symptoms. Then I apply organic Argan Oil and leave it in. It adds an extra boost to moisturizing my hair and scalp and does not irritate the psoriasis.Last note, I also highly recommend the Neemaura Naturals Neem Skin Salve (different company) for spot treatment of psoriasis. I use it to relieve itching on my hands, arms etc. when I get a flare up. It really does help. It's also nice for dry lips in the winter. All in all, these things will not fix everything, but they are hands down the BEST products I have ever used for relieving the symptoms and preventing bad flare ups. Good luck!

Works great!
This shampoo really makes my hair shine when using it & leaves my scalp feeling clean and refreshed.I follow up with Aubrey Honey suckle Rose conditioner and my cousin who is a hair dresser even commented how shiny and nice my hair is!In the past I've used many different brands of cleansers and conditioners in hopes of finding at least one that would make my hair stop thinning and not be so dry. Before using this I was using the cleanser and conditioner from 100% Pure, and then Aubrey Organics Honey suckle Rose cleanser and conditioner. The Honeysuckle Rose cleanser doesn't get all the buildup out sometimes so I wanted something that would and tried this one. Aubrey and 100% pure are all natural products so I didn't want more chemicals in my hair and am so happy that this cleanser is also chemical free. I think it was the chemicals in the past that were drying out my hair and making it thin. Now my hair is soft, silky and healthy.I've used this on a family member who has very thin, baby fine hair that is super oily and after just 2 shampoos and a few minutes of conditioner her hair was so shiny, soft and oil free.. it stayed that way a couple days until she cleansed again too.

Buon prodotto
Preso x il mio compagno. Dice che si trova bene e l'odore non è sgradevole come l'olio puro. Lo consiglio.

Fabulous!
This has to be the best shampoo I’ve ever used. Smells nice, works wonderfully on the hair. I have straight, long, medium-thick hair with fine strands. It was a bit dry before I started using this schampoo. With this schampoo I don’t even need conditioner, except during the dry winter months. It can feel difficult to distribute through the hair at first. Don’t wring out too much water from your hair before shampooing, as the water helps to distribute it. You will need to work it through for a bit longer than traditional schampoo. I use about 1tbls for my whole hair.
