What, in 1856, set out as a factory producing blank movements, in time, grew into a mature manufacturing enterprise thanks to the vision and tenacity of founding partner Urs Schild. As a family-owned company, Eterna has remained faithful to its original philosophy that of perfecting the classic art of watchmaking. It has managed this with great aplomb, as can be seen from the series of milestones that have marked the past 150 years. In 1995 the company was taken over by the Porsche Family. Since then , designers, watchmakers and engineers have been collaborating on products designed to keep Eterna and its inheritance of tradition at the forefront of progress products such as Porsche Designs high-end, high-performance timepieces. On the road to perfecting the time-honored watchmakers art, our craftspeople make use of highly precise and cutting-edge technology. From the initial concept of a movement to its series manufacture, we deploy the latest in engineering and computing technology to bring our new design solutions to fruition. Testing at every stage of development helps guarantee the full functionality of our timepieces.
