ive slid into the right joycon side tens of times now trying to log into rcm but instead when holding down vol up and home it boots up a switch, help?

Your unit might be patched. You should check the serial number on the unit to see if the jig is compatible. Soft mod RCM mode only works on first generation units. Another thing - Are there metal pins on the jig like in the product photo? If there aren’t then perhaps you got a defective jig. I ordered two just to be safe back when I modded my unit. Sometimes these jigs come dead on arrival. But check your unit’s serial number first to make sure you can actually get into RCM mode. Again the unit must be a first gen model. Not a Lite not an OLED. Only model HAC-001 in a specific serial number range. There is a website called ismyswitchpatched to check this specific information. If it’s patched, then you’ll need to go another route with chips and soldering to modify it.

Does it have a real on/off switch or is it just one piece?

It's just one solid piece that slides Down into place. Definitely not a fancy piece of gear but it does its job and does it well.

Bought for obvious reasons — the jig came secured in a little case (as pictured), and can be easily put back in so you do not lose it. Super easy to get on; just slide it onto the side of the switch and you’re done. Sides are also clearly labeled. Definitely worth it for the price!!
