Tio nacho is one of the lesser known drugstore brands. I actually had relatively high hopes because it does contain a lot of things that are quite good for your scalp health such as aloe vera, honey, and royal jelly. Obviously the primary purpose of this is to cleanse the scalp. After all, it does contain cleansing ingredients primarily. However, regarding the benefits advertised on the front, I’m not entirely sure if it delivered. Shampoo is basically on your scalp for a maximum of three minutes. It really is not sitting there for a significant amount of time for the ingredients to truly “work” I don’t think. On top of that there are no active ingredients in this formula. Everything is inactive. The smell of this shampoo is quite nice. It’s very herbal. And earthy. I personally don’t think that it reduced my shedding or my breakage anymore or any less, it’s just a nice solid shampoo option for those that love Tio Nacho or brands that lean more “natural” in their marketing. It lathers up very well. Definitely makes my scalp feel clean. So at least where it matters this product did work. My mom who has very fine hair that is prone to breakage and hair fall, she didn’t notice any positive effects. Mine were pretty neutral. Or forgettable. Based on what I got out of this, I personally would not repurchase it. Maybe with extended use and daily use you would see some effect. But for someone that only washes their hair every 5 to 6 days…this really didn’t do much besides to clean my scalp. Just an honest review. After I am done with the bottle, I will update my review.

I bought this on a whim because of the positive reviews. My hair has been thinning and feeling dull lately so I wanted to try this because of the low price and the list of high quality and hair friendly ingredients. I have to say that I’m both impressed and conflicted over this. On one hand, I like how it makes my hair feel. It feels like my hair has a little more bounce and thickness to it. I like a shampoo that leaves my hair feeling more dense and this works well for that. Now, my big caveat is the fragrance of this. It’s obviously made from bee propolis which I did notice before buying but this is like sniffing honey and flowers. It actually reminds me of one of the local floral honey brands I buy for tea. Now, this could be a big plus for honey lovers but for me it’s VERY cloying and reminds me a bit of the perfume of an elderly grandmother. It’s just overpowering honey and flowers. If you love the fragrance of honey and flowers and want a thickening shampoo give this a try. For myself, I don’t think I’m going to repurchase.
