Works well and adds texture
I use this after a sea salt spray, it's easy to use, only need a little bit. I found it easy to wash out, it's a little greasy but I've found that to be the case for most of these. Has a good hold that lasts all day. It's kinda expensive, but I think it will last a long time!

Great for fine hair
The best product I’ve ever found for fine hair. It’s completely matte but still has enough strength to keep my medium length hair up all day. Would definitely recommend to anyone struggling to find a good product for fine hair!

Grainy but holds very well.
I use a clay or paste daily. This brand has a great hold with the formula allowing for wet hair to dry properly in place without the “wet look”. Hold last all day very easily and allow allows for easy manipulation throughout the day for the look that you’re looking for. I would recommend this product very easily and love the fact that the scent is very very light. A little bit goes a very long way and a tub of this would last many many months maybe even a year. Gives your hair a slight grainy feel and it works very well. Works well with dyed hair.

Just the Right Balance of Hold and Ease of Application
I have used the Aveda men's grooming clay for years and recently moved to Highland because of some ads that said it was awesome. Turns out that that I was missing with Aveda was longevity. The Aveda product simply disappeared when I got hot, or it was very humid, or it rained a little. Basically any moisture would make it simply disappear. I wanted something with better hold, and I didn't know until I tried something else. However, the Highland glacial clay is the polar opposite. It is made of wax and it is very sticky. Not only does it stay on your hair, but you have to rub it off your hands with a towel because soap and water have no effect on it. Also, I would pull out my hair when putting it on. Once I put it on my hair, my hair was flat and that was the way it stayed. It was simply too much. I was staring right down on the Goldilocks problem, so I did what everyone does in 2024, I conducted an online search, developed a list of candidates, and read reviews. I was stumped with several products, so I decided to buy the most popular one--Quicksand. This stuff is just right. It goes on pretty easily without pulling my hair out. Like Highland, you have to warm it up in your hands, but this is more clay and less wax. It lasts all day no matter the weather. It does not look slick, shiny, or greasy. Like the name implies, it leaves your hair dry looking. I put it on when my hair is barely damp. It makes my already thin hair a little flat at first. But over the morning, my hair rises to the desired look. Unlike Aveda or Highland, if the wind blows my hair, for example, I can run my hand through my hair without destroying the hold or the look. Sometimes when i first get up in the morning, my hair is like Doc Brown from Back to the Future, but all I have to do is push it back down and I'm good until I shower and start all over again. I don’t know what the "dry shampoo" thing is about, and I almost did not buy it because that was in the title. I would recommend that you give this a shot unless you want the slick or shiny look. See if you agree.

Not High Hold, Weird Yellowish Color?
I read several reviews and this hair clay was highly recommended, so I decided to try it because my old clay was discontinued. It says "high hold". It is definitely not what I would consider "high hold". Probably "medium hold", as it can still stay fairly styled if I use a decent amount, but I frequently have to run my hands through my hair throughout the day to re-shape, and then use more of the wax. And if your hair hasn't been thoroughly dried (like if it has any moisture in it AT ALL), forget about this clay having any hold. Also, in the product pictures, this is supposed to be an off-white/sandy color. Mine is like yellow-brown with a greenish tint, I'll include a picture. If you're wanting a clay that you don't have to re-apply and re-shape a few times a day, this isn't the one for you. And the fact that I have to re-apply it a few times a day uses so much of the clay, and it's already an expensive/small jar. Even using a lot does not go a long way... The texture is ok, it's not globby, doesn't clump hairs together. Has a nice matte finish. It says "beachy texture", I would say it has a slightly "grainy-ish" feeling, but not super noticeable, it feels pretty dry and thin (I'm not sure how you would phrase this?).

Very dry wax
Texture is very dry, not a bad thing, not like a puffy, sticky or cream product. Dry wax best way to describe. Little like a wood puddy type texture, or dry clay product. Did not get separation or definition that I hoped for, but held style even after wearing under motorcycle helmet, in Phoenix Arizona during summer heat-118*. Hair was damp after but still looked great and bounced right back into place with this product. I wear a choppy, just woke up, beachy style. Thick hair Was really impressed with its stay put all day styling ability. Most hair products can’t claim that one but this once can for sure. Oh and still washed out Easley just shampoo as normal to remove and removed clean. Still use alone with another product for my go to look

Top-Quality Texture, But Comes at a Price
Hanz de Fuko Quicksand definitely feels like a premium product. The texture is dense and smooth, lacking the wet, heavy feel that often comes with clays or putties, and the added dry shampoo feature means your hair feels far less greasy than with similar products. That said, this isn’t a budget-friendly option, so you’ll need to decide if the price is worth it for you. It’s not the quickest styling product – if you’re after something easy to throw in and go, this might not be ideal. But if you want a firm hold, less shine, and that refreshing dry-shampoo effect, Quicksand is worth a look.

The best hair product ever!
I have tried so many different pomades over the years, and they always follow the same principle of gluing hair together, despite being water-based. This stuff is one of a kind: it's more like a powder (using a mineral compound made from the fossilised remains of tiny aquatic organisms!) and it doesn't look or feel unnatural, but it does shape hair surprisingly well, even my semi-long, straight hair. Here's a trick: wash hair, towel dry it, dry your hands, rub a small amount of Quicksand between hands, apply all over hair, then blow dry while brushing back. This will miraculously create volume that lasts. Reapply a little on the dry hair afterwards. Can be combined with texturising/volume powder, but honestly, at least in my case, this is all I need. Happy to see it at a good price on Amazon.
