Look elsewhere.
Never could get it to install on my daughter's mac, and customer service didn't resolve the problem. Useless. Avoid.

Had initial problems with the registration code. Installed okay in my daughter's MacPro after vendor supplied an updated registration code

I haven't had to use it yet, but at least it was cheaper hear than at the Apple Store hopefully I never have to know if it works or not.

Excellent Product but don't try to transfer the protection
I installed this product on a MacBook Pro with no problems or issues. I later sold the MacBook Pro, advertising that it had LoJack for Laptops installed. I sold the laptop and wound up buying another copy of LoJack for the purchaser as LoJack won't let you transfer the product. A real pain; they did walk me through the steps to uninstall it on the sold machine and install it on another computer I own. I found the customer support very helpful and empathetic.

I got this for my son. I had it delivered to him on his base in N.C. He installed it. Safe than sorry, you never know when lifty fingers will come by. So far no problems.

Lojack BIOS Compatibility for Macbook Pro
The software installed easily on my Macbook Pro. I mainly bought this item to calm my anxiety. My place has been broken into twice in 3 years. My biggest concern before buying this software was all the rumors about it not being Mac compatible. I have been burned before by products that claim to be "Mac Compatible", only to find that it was not the case so I always triple check when it comes to this.The particular feature I wanted was the BIOS security feature. Lojack will install itself and activate no matter what you do to the hard drive. Lojack is the only tracking software with this feature I believe.This BIOS feature was the single most important buying factor for me but was the hardest thing to find information on. All the documentation would say was "Mac Compatible". Really? What models? How recent must my Mac be? Finding the specifications on this feature took me a while. Even the Lojack website was vague, it stated that it is Mac Compatible but only for specific manufacturers. The link to the list of manufacturers was broken. I found through research at other websites that this feature will not work on non Intel Macs or very early Intel models. Newer MacBooks will be OK.I just wish this information was more prominent in the specifications. I would have bought this software sooner.

My daughter purchased a new laptop for college and the campus police recommended getting this software. They have successfully recovered laptops that have this software installed. Having a law enforcement background myself, I brought the software. Hopefully we never have to use it.

3 Years of No Worries with Lojack Premium for MAC
Pricey but worth it!Protection is a necessary expense for portable items.Better safe (with a little less pocket change) than sorry.
