A great alternative to ziplock bags!
I use a lot of ziplock bags every day…well I used to anyways. The other day my friend told me about these reusable silicone bags that you can get at the store so I got some. They were kind of expensive but I figured I can just get a refund if I don’t like them. I’m trying to convert more of my disposable kitchen items to be more eco-friendly. So between these bags, swedish dishcloths, and silicone baking mats, I think I’m off to a good start! The one I got is in aqua, it says on the packaging that its 15-ounce. I tried it out immediately once I got home. My first impression was that the material was very thick and rubbery…in a good way. I was a bit skeptical about how it closes since it seemed kind of flimsy but to my surprise it actually closes very securely. Its funny actually after I closed it I struggled to get it back open again. So yeah, the seal will definitely seal your food. The next day I used it to bring my sandwich to work (I usually use a regular baggie). Of course I gave it a good wash beforehand. One thing thats great about the silicone is it keeps the shape of your food…in other words my sandwich didn’t squashed like it sometimes does in my work bag. There wasn’t any noticeable smell or anything either coming from the silicone…my sandwich tasted exactly the same as before so that’s a good thing. I know sometimes if the material is bad it can leave an odor in your food which I think is really gross. Whats even more impressive is that the silicone is microwavable. This actually makes eating lunch super convenient at work…I can just put the whole thing in the microwave for 15 seconds and I’ll get a warm meal. Whereas when I used regular baggies I would never get the luxury of eating a warm sandwich. Ive already had a coworker as me about them. I guess it attracts attention when you put something like that in the microwave. Ive never used it on the stove top though it says you can. The idea of putting it over open flame kind of makes me nervous so I think i’ll hold back on that for now. Like others have said they wash up great in the dishwasher too. I don’t use my dishwasher too often though so I just clean them by hand. Just use soap and water…the regular stuff, and leave it to air dry. I always dump the excess water out first otherwise i’ll take that much longer. The bottomline is that they’re great reusable bags. The silicone is high quality and doesn’t have any smell. They’re microwavable and easy to wash as well. My only complaint is that yeah they’re a little hard to open and close. I guess thats a good thing since it means that the seal works well? Or maybe I’m just lacking power in my fingers who knows…Anyways I don’t regret buying this product though it was kind of pricey. Less stuff to the landfill is always a good thing imo.

Freezer Storage
These are one of the best alternatives to one time usable storage bags. I haven't had any issues with the seal and there perfect for freezer storage.

4.5 stars - Great Ziploc alternative!
I should start off by saying that I am probably the target audience for these bags. I am a working mom, I used to pack snacks in Ziploc bags for the family every day. I also meal prep and use Ziploc bags to freeze and store food. When we take day trips, I also pack sandwiches for us and the kids in Ziploc bags, along with any snacks (and you know kids get hungry!). I use Pyrex heavily for storing food and leftovers, but I recently started searching for something to cut back on Ziploc waste. Enter the Stasher; I bought one at a local store to try it before investing in a set. The bags are dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer safe. I loved the Stasher and ended up buying sets (I now have 10+ in different sizes). I now bring at least one in the diaper bag for any potlucks, parties, restaurants, etc. for any leftovers. I pack my snacks in them and snacks for the family - we use them daily. For day trips to the zoo, lunch and snacks are packed in the Stashers. I have not really tried microwaving or baking food in them, so I can't speak to that aspect of the Stasher. I have frozen meat and lasagna in the Stashers, and they did well in the freezer. You can even write on them to label (I used a dry eraser and wiped off with a damp cloth). I absolutely love mine and would strongly recommend to anyone considering! Now the cons: the cleaning. Stashers are not something you can just pop in the dishwasher and expect them to come out dry and ready for use. That is one of the reasons I rated 4.5 stars and not 5. I usually put mine in the top rack and when they come out, I wipe the inside with a dry towel and leave them gaped in the dishrack to air dry for the day. This has worked well for me - I have used them for a few months, and have not run into the mold problem some other reviewers mentioned. The seal is good but isn't perfect - to be honest, no reusable bag is going to have a perfect seal. I'm happy with it, but I also do not store liquids in my Stashers. If you are a heavy Ziploc user and food prepper, and you are someone who can take care of your stuff, I would definitely recommend the Stasher!

Easy to open and close
Smashers are my favorite silicone bags. I’ve tried others and they don’t measure up in ease of opening and closing.

Amazing
In my attempt to use less plastic and waste got Reuseable Baggies over the years. None of them held up like the Stasher bag. Nice and Stedry and STAYS CLOSED.

Best reusable bag
I've tried a LOT of reusable bags as there are a lot of options out there all using a variety of materials. The fabric ones just get gross over time. The vinyl ones are hard to clean and aren't usually dishwasher safe. There are other silicone one that need a separate rod to close them that you can easily lose. This one is the most simple and easy to use. No separate pieces to lose. Can withstand any temperature/microwave/dishwasher/whatever. And if they get gunky they are very easy to clean and I trust that they aren't hiding gross crumbs in any of the crevices. My only complaint is the cost - they are the most expensive and I wish they offered a bulk discount. If they were cheaper I would use them for EVERYTHING (open cheese in cheese drawer, all snacks on the go, etc)

Not sandwich size
You literally have to force a sandwich in this bag, and you will mash it while struggling to get it in there. The bag itself is thick silicone and made very well. It also closes very easily. I’m disappointed. If you want sandwich size, look for the quart size. I’ve been trying to find the quart, but I’ve been unable to find it so far.

My girlfriend and I have been scouring Amazon for a while looking for replacements to ziplocks. This is definitely a faithful reinterpretation of a ziplock bag. The silicone is thinner than i expected but it holds together well. No odours and remains clean, typical of silicone. From what I can tell, this bag is constructed from two different pieces of flat silicone glued at the seams. I was originally worried that this seam would come apart easily, but after being in the dishwasher 3 times on high and me accidentally tugging the opening harder than I should, I can safely say that the construction is excellent. The seal, while being a molded ziplock-type sealing mechanism moulded out of silicone, works well, is air tight and closes strongly. Overall a great buy. Pretty expensive but I think the longevity of this product will pay for itself.

Good product. I bought it because of its compact, light and flat size for packing food to work. Microwavable is also a plus although have not done so yet. Easy to wash, no smells. Have been using to bring cooked food to work.

Hält tatsächlich was es verspricht. Überraschend ungut einsetzbar und stabil. Ich reinige es per Hand mit Spülbürste.

Completely airtight and travel friendly! A little awkward to clean thouroughly inside but flexible enough to turn inside out so not too bad. I now travel with 2! <3 fridge and freezer safe!
