Had an issue with the original unit. But customer service was able to resolve the issue.
I purchased this back in July 2025 and it didnโt even last one season. Keeps throwing an E3 error code. For the amount of money I spent,I shouldnโt have to buy one every year. I contacted customer service and with their help I was able to receive a replacement. The customer service department was extremely helpful in resolving the issue and I had a new unit delivered to my home within a few days.

DisappointedโTwo Units Failed Within Three Summers
Iโm usually very discreet about leaving online reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience. On July 23, 2022, I purchased the hOmeLabs 3,500 sq. ft Energy Star Dehumidifier with Pump for $279.97 (totaling $303.42 with tax). I followed all care instructions and regularly cleaned the filter as recommended. The unit was used 2 months in 2022 and 4 months in 2023, totaling only 6 months of use before it completely stopped working in May 2024. I contacted hOme customer support, and to their credit, they responded quickly and kindly offered a one-time courtesy replacement without requiring a return. However, they noted the replacement would not be covered under warranty. I received the replacement on June 7, 2024, and again, I appreciated their responsiveness. Unfortunately, when I tried to use it again on June 6, 2025, the unit failedโthis time showing an E3 error after just a few minutes of operation. When I reached out to support again, they stated the one-year warranty had expired and offered a 20% refund, which felt like a small consolation considering that both units failed within three summers of light seasonal use, despite proper care and maintenance. Iโm very disappointed with the overall quality and durability of this product. Despite the good customer service, the fact that two brand-new units became unusable so quickly is unacceptable. Iโve decided to switch to another brand, and I would not recommend this product to anyone. If you want to avoid the hassle, I suggest looking elsewhere.

It's LOUD! ... Update after new replacement.
What the heck is this? First time plugging it in and it so loud. I'm so disappointed that I spent $299 tax for something that sounds like it wasn't screwed on properly. Okay, I turned it off for about 12 hours and now it sounds like a diesel generator when the compressor comes on. I can see the fan wobbling. I bought this because of the reviews it had from online. It was rated as one of the quietest units. I was going to opt for the cheaper unit but decided to get the mid range since it had some of the best reviews. Well, since the reviews said it was one of the quietest, and this isn't, then it's defective. How can anyone listen to something that sounds like a diesel generator for hours? UPDATE - It was replaced with a new unit and it's working great. I'm assuming the first unit was defective since I sent the batch number and they didn't ask any questions and sent a new one. The new one lives up to it's reviews because it's really quiet for what it is and works well. Very useful during a massive rainstorm that caused some flooding here in New England. Really happy with the product and replacement.

Itโs a basic dehumidifier
I use this for my one bedroom apartment. I live on the bottom floor of a building and letโs just say itโs a dank basement apartment during the summer. The apartment is approximately 700-800 sq.ft. I keep this dehumidifier near the center of my apartment and it does pretty well. It has a built in hygrometer but Iโm not certain itโs accurate because I have nothing to compare it with. I usually just set it to target 35% and it reasonably dehumidifies. Without the turbo setting, itโs slow but relatively quiet. With the turbo setting, it very quickly works but can be loud. I run it on turbo when I leave and without turbo during the night. It has no problems with overflowing and has turned itself off if the tank fills. The timer works perfectly if I want assurance that it wonโt overflow while Iโm away. I havenโt noticed a significant increase in my electric bill, but the dehumidifier has offset my AC usage quite a bit, so I canโt say itโs super efficient. Iโve been using it for about 2 months now. All in all, itโs a dehumidifier. It has no special features, really, and I canโt say it will last forever. I wish it could be more efficient without the turbo mode, but given the price, Iโm not upset with performance.

Makes our ridiculously humid bedroom PLEASANT!
Excellent at making our owner suite addition livable! Our bedroom & bath are separate from the rest of the house & aren't as well insulated, so we have had humidity problems since moving in. Finally decided to do something about it and ordered the one with the PUMP. It's amazing! Drops the humidity in our wing from 80+ to 50ish in about an hour, then cycles on as needed to keep it there. We have it pumping the water into the tub for the most convenient method, but have accidentally set it to go to the tank a few times -- only takes a couple hours to fill that huge gallon plus collector before it automatically shuts off & waits to be emptied. Hoping it continues to impress! AC works & feels better and our clothes, towels, and bedding don't feel pre-moistened (ewww!).

Stand-up Company!
I have purchased 3 of these units. This one failed (the pump) shortly after the one-year warranty expired. I had purchased the extended warranty (Asurion) but Asurion said it was still within the manufacturer's warranty so they denied the claim. It WAS NOT still in warranty! I contacted Homelabs & they asked me to do some simple troubleshooting. No luck getting it working. But these folks stepped up to the plate and sent me a new unit! No charge! Homelabs is a stand-up company! Hard to find that these days!

Terrible quality, barely lasts 6 months! Buyer Beware!
These units are of very poor quality. They work great when they're working, but I have had THREE replacement units from HomeLabs. All 3 have failed with less than 6 months of use, and their warranty only qualifies for the purchase date, not the unit itself. We have confirmed correct installation and is all well within their environmental recommendations. E3 fault over and over, which they tell me is a refrigerant leak. This has happened to all 3 units they have sent. It is getting very difficult to find a quality dehumidifier, however, I would refrain from purchasing anything from this company at this point.

Too noisy, not from normal work, and the E5 unresolved system alarm.
About myself: I'm a old time trained journeyman technician with many years repairing electronic equipment, audio, tv, washers, ac, very expensive CNC machines, etc. Since November 1st, 2023, I have been browsing Amazon looking for dehumidifiers. Due to the amazing variety of models and brands found, I have created a comparison sheet in MS Excel to intelligently compare them. After reviewing almost one hundred of them, I came to the 'intelligent and informed' conclusion that this brand was the only one I would risk my money and time to buy, selecting the 3500 square foot with three systems for removing the collected water, with an automatic drain pump. lose to one hundreds of dehumidifiers. This brand was the only one I would risk my money and time to purchase. It does its job very well. After four days of use, getting around two gallons of water out of our 350 sq. ft. trailer, the E5 alarm and a loud noise started happening very often. I could not find the answers on the user's manual or online and found out that their customer support phone is disconnected, due to too many complaints, I guess. Do not get me wrong, I like this brand, particularly good quality all around, and can see that the new model I received has many upgrades and improvements; I guess, due to YouTube reviews and 1-star complaints I read on amazon. I donโt want to fix it, will try to contact them true email about the abnormal noise. I lent it to my son, and he got 1.75 gallons of water out of his trailer in 8 hours of continuous use, also with the E5 alarm and the loud oscillating vibration noise happening. He unplugged it when it happened, waited for a minute or so, turned on and it seemed to reset itself working without the E5 alarm or the noise for a while. I will post an update when I have the answer.
