Q: So, i'm guessing the xxl would still be too small for my great dane?

XXLs were a good fit on my 65lb Belgian Shepherds. Most likely too small for a Great Dane.

Q: I was going to put this on my roosters spur nail so he quits hurting the chickens, do you think the med or large will fit ok?

i think cat nail caps will be more fit, dog nails caps are straight, cat nail caps are slight curve, then you could choose the size, to cat nail caps, if your roosters is not too big, M will be ok, or choose L size pls

Yes. They still make noise but it doesn’t click like your dog has high heels on... it definitely quiets the noise.
