This is the coolest thing! Even top-brand golf balls are NOT balanced out-of-the-box, such that the line is the actual line of rotation, ie, the equator. This device reliably and consistently finds that equator, as well as the lightest (and conversely, the heaviest) point, ie poles, on the ball, at a right angle to the equator. How do I know it works? You can take a previously-marked ball and it will find that same equator and poles! In theory, if a ball were perfectly balanced, any orientation would also work, but I have yet to find one.Does it actually help? I guess that would depend on you and your swing. But I can’t think of any circumstance where it would actually hurt. So if it helped, even slightly, on your drives and shaved even one putt off of your game, isn’t that worth $28?I’ve been buying these for golf friends, my golf instructor, and, of course, for me. One of them says than Zen balls are factory-balanced, such that the logo line is the true equator. But I don’t use Zen balls, so I use the Check-Go on the balls I like, and voila! You’ll be surprised at how much even the top-brand balls benefit from balancing.The Check-Go is less than $30 and is easy - even fun - to use. But maybe I shouldn’t be telling everybody about it, and keep it as my “secret” weapon...

I used this to mark my golf balls on a recent trip to Florida where I played 6 rounds. Ball flight was extremely straight off the tee and my playing partners were wondering how I could hit them that straight! Worked just as well on the greens. What I noticed when I marked them was that none of the 18 balls I marked were close to the manufacturers line arrows on the balls and all were different which leads me to believe it actually was finding the centre of gravity. Definitely worth the price if you are looking to lower your score by a few strokes.

This product does what it says I would have liked a couple spare pens when sold but not a big issue
