Will this fit in a new laptop that says dsd/mmc/ms on the slot?

I am afraid not. The interface of this soundcard will only fit a PCMCIA slot. AFAIK modern laptops are no longer being built with these, as they have been replaced with Expresscard slots.

Any chance it will work with windows 10? believe it or not, my x60 thinkpad runs w10 with no problems at all.

Reading off the package it says +ZS notebook audio card +minimum requirements ; Windows XP (Sp2) or 2000 (SP4); 1.2GHz processor; 256MB Ram and 600MB of free hard disk space. hope this helps.

Is this the short card in the cardboard box or the (longer, more compatible) clamshell packaged unit? I have a Dell and the short one may not work.

This item arrived packaged in a clamshell. I'm running mine in a Gateway MT6840. Fits fine and sticks out of the PCMCIA slot about an inch from the body of the laptop.
