Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  During the wintertime, my wife likes to keep the house a little warmer at night than I do. So in the interest of marital harmony, I decided to give this blanket a try, using it in combination with the comforter I normally use. Not really sure of the best way to combine the two covers, I tried all four possible combinations for at least two nights each way. Here's what I learned:Combo #1 - blanket UNDER comforter (i.e. next to me), shiny (nylon/polyethylene) side DOWN: VERY cool at first, but the temperature rose pretty gradually over about an hour to the point where it was definitely hotter than the comforter alone (which makes sense, as the comforter acted as an insulating layer; the heat absorbed by the blanket pretty much stayed under the comforter)!Combo #2 - blanket UNDER comforter, shiny side UP: started off at a pretty similar temperature as that of the comforter by itself, then rose a bit over about 30 minutes to the same level as Combo #1. Again, not the solution I was looking for.Combo #3 - blanket OVER comforter, shiny side UP: this was the definitely the hottest! After about 2 hours each of the nights I tried it, I was sweating and couldn't take any more!Combo #4 - blanket OVER comforter, shiny side DOWN (as in the video): THIS was the method I was looking for! After about an hour, the temperature was clearly cooler than the comforter by itself, but not SO cool that it was uncomfortable. I'd say that the level of cool stabilized after about four hours.Since finding the best solution for my needs (Combo #4), I have been sleeping more comfortably than I ever have been able to during my 15-year marriage to my heat-loving wife! It is no exaggeration to state that this blanket has changed my life for the (much) better. Moreover, after my experimenting with it, I'm certain that it will work (as advertised) to keep me comfortably cool in the summer as well!One final point (also mentioned in the video): because the nylon (cooling) side can be really slippery on fabric, I've found it useful to secure the corners to my comforter with safety pins. This is not at all a bother; in fact, the safety pins help me make my bed in a flash!I think you'll find this blanket to be well worth the money.

Let me start by saying I get extremely over-heated when I sleep but also enjoy the weight of a blanket on me. This blanket is the perfect solution for that. It is large enough to cover my entire queen-sized bed and just heavy enough to provide some weight while I sleep. It is definitely cold but not overwhelmingly cold at all. It’s like flipping your pillow over the cold side, except it’s an entire blanket! I love this thing, but I may have to get another one since my husky-mix loves it just as much as me!

Once again I fell for praising reviews and a flashy advertisement for a product that doesn't deliver :(, boooo...This is a real review so people can know exactly what to expect.- the blanket is too small, the larger size will NOT fit a queen size bed, it can't be used for two people (unless you are both 4 feet tall and 95 pounds)- the material feels weird on the skin, like a heavy t-shirt with parchment paper like coating, very rubbery and sticky and kind of uncomfortable. Basically nothing you want to use without a sheet- I tried to use it without a sheet the first (and last) night, to make sure nothing will get in the way of the cooling properties but it just did not cool at all. I tried both sides up and couldn't tell any difference to my 20 Dollar fleece throw (that is way more soft and cozy)- After 2 hours I could tell the difference though, I woke up sweating worse than ever, our house is set to 75° at night and I always wake up in the middle of the night, because I'm too hot, but I usually don't sweat that bad.- 50 bucks for a cooling blanket that does nothing is upsetting, I will park it in our guest room or use it as a car blanket and add this experience to lessons learned on amazon, nothing revolutionary about this product besides the price.I can see some minor pros of this blanket, it is light-weight and doesn't take up much space, but again 50 bucks for a spare blanket you keep for kids, dogs or visitors is a bit excessive, if you can have normal fleece blankets for a third of the price. It might have cooling properties if you switch from a heavy comforter to this blanket, but I believe a cheaper product without cooling rubber coating will work just fine, I will get back to my old blanket and watch out for other products that actually REALLY cool and don't just claim they would...

I took a chance on this blanket because I have a heat-sensitive disease and I am always uncomfortable at night. Despite always being hot, i really need the feel of a blanket on me and a sheet has never been enough. I checked out reviews for this blanket and thought I'd give it a chance. I took it out of the box and took it into our office to have my husband feel it. When I had him touch the "cold" side, he asked if I had just taken it out of the freezer (when reality, it just came out of the amazon box.) I washed it right away and followed the recommendations NOT to dry it in the dryer. It stayed cool to the touch on the cold side. I sleep with it every night and it offers great relief. I do recommend a simple tip: When you aren't using it, flip the blanket over so the "cold" side is exposed to the air--this seems to let it cool off even more. I've had this for a couple weeks now and honestly can't believe how cool it feels to the touch. I don't fully understand the science or "how" of it--but I'll take it!

This blanket did nothing at all to keep me cool! I returned the blanket with in 24 hours of receiving it and still $10.00 was taken off my refund. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!

I like the size of the blanket. Also I like the feeling of material, and I like how it’s cooling your body heat quickly. I usually use it at work and I took it to the beach, it’s awesome product! Hmmm, forget to tell about second day delivery!

I used to have night sweats but since I got this blanket I havent woken up hot or sweaty. The one night I didnt use the blanket I woke up sweating. Love this blanket would definitely recommend to anyone that is a hot sleeper or has night sweats

I have dysautonomia and as a result my body temperature is all over the place, especially at night, and I tend to overheat. I’ve spent many a miserable sleepless night where even a sheet is just too hot and nothing seems to help cool down. I really wasn’t hopeful as everything I have tried has either been uncomfortable or has quickly lost any cooling quality.This. Is. Amazing. When you first wrap it round yourself it’s so cool it feels like it’s fresh from the freezer. It doesn’t warm up to body temperature too quickly but when it does a quick shake and rearrangement makes it nice and cool again. If the ‘cool’ side is TOO cool the jersey side is a little warmer but still offers some relief. The fabric on both sides is so soft and comfy, and it looks lovely draped at the end of the bed ready for use. The king size is huge and I really love it. Highly recommended!

Hi purchased this item along with pillow cases to help my daughter who suffers from eczema, to help regulate her body temperature whilst sleeping. After the first night she complained that the blanket offered no reduced heat and was constantly slipping off her body. Unfortunately not doing what it was purchased for. Highly disappointed in this product

I love these cooling blankets - one side is cold & the other side is warm but you can also feel the cool come through - I use a 2tog duvet over it but when I’m warm during the night I throw the duvet off & I can cool down but it’s warmer than if you don’t have anything over you - can’t wait to try it in summer!!! It’s a perfect thickness as well!!!

I have mixed feelings on this product. I currently use a bamboo flat sheet with/instead of the duvet which I find much lighter and more breathable.By comparison I woke up quite icky and sweaty under this so-called ‘cooling’ sheet, despite the fact that initially out of the packaging it did indeed feel quite magically cool.But on the plus side I do enjoy the weight and reassuring ‘drape’ of it which the lighter bamboo flat sheets fail to provide. And I am glad to have it as a weighter flat sheet alternative in the warmer months.

Because it is just another throw blanket. And not that light of one, which causes more sweat when it is hot. the idea is you put the silky side on you when it is hot out, and somehow magically it makes you down to at least 5 degrees cooler?? No, it doesn't, in fact, when you put it on, it makes you warmer, and when you take it off, naturally, you will become less hot, like any other blanket.I was really looking for something that didn't make me feel so exposed in bed, that actually would have some kind of cooling effect, and this is not worth the money, maybe a tenner. It also smells pretty rank of some plastic/chemical/manufacturer stench. As you can't wash it and then dry it in a dryer and why would you want to have to do that immediately after purchasing anyway, it seems um well...not "cool". I guess if you want to purchase an actual cover that makes you feel more comfortable in bed or wherever you are lounging because you aren't an exhibitionist, then you should take the up to 50 quid this sometimes costs on here, and put it toward one of those electric cooling blankets.
