This is a great little antenna for vehicle use with 800 MHz digital scanner. Getting your antenna outside of the vehicle can help improve reception when receiving these public safety radio systems. You may need an adapter to a BNC connector.

Priced the inside antennas on every site I could find to try to get a antenna that would work on a Wilson Mini-Mobile I have had for 2 years and was getting fairly disgusted with the rip off prices of a piece of plastic and a really stupid simple design of the inside (ineffective) antennas.Borrowed one of these from a friend and used it on the inside of my house as a inside antenna and BOOOOOOOMMM!!!!. Freakin thing was like a jacked up meth junkie on cell signal! You just set it on a ground plane, I used a 6 inch round of tin I had when I opened up a coffee Can. Set it in the middle, placed it to do its best.I have good 3-4 bars service OUTSIDE my home, zero-zip-nada on the inside due to barrier isolation e-coat and copper mesh in the walls.Now I ordered one and gonna beat the scam they have of $40 to $100 for the "labeled" inside antennas that are less useful than the cheap one on this page.UPDATE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ordered it, paid a lot extra to get it shipped faster. They didn't even ship it for 3 days!, then when they did, its untraceable and not expected to arrive for 10 days!! Thats EXPEDITED SHIPPING?????? WOW! What a scam! When I finally got it, It cost them less than 1/2 of the extra I paid to ship it slower than snail mail. Thats disrespectful!

This little gem really gives a little boost in cell reception all by itself. I added this to my cell phone (along with the short adapter that is required) and it certainly gives me reception in places that I had no service before. Granted, it only increases the reception by about 1 bar, which is usually enough to get a call out, but it still drops calls on occasion. Still I can't complain since without it, I had NO SERVICE at all.

After using these antenna's on a few boosters I bought another as a backup because they are small and work well enough for most applications rather than the larger antenna's.

This antenna did nothing to change the reception of the slimline/sleek Wilson 4G cradle. In fact, the 4G cradle did not boost reception at all. I had an occasion (and the time) to test the reception on a long drive into the mountains. After turning the unit (with this antenna) on and off, disconnecting and reconnecting the antenna...I noted no difference in speed or reception strength. Using Open Signal, no change was noted in the signal strength or reception speed. I also verified this behavior within the system settings of my Android Phone. I made sure to be in various 1x, 3G and 4G areas and did not notice any improvement.I also made sure to move the antenna to different locations on the vehicle and with the vehicle off. I wanted to make sure my equipment was not causing any issues. Since there was no difference in reception with the antenna connected or not, I cannot conclude the unit is beneficial and worth the cost. Excellent little antenna, and better than the longer version. The longer version whistles through the air due to the coil. Couple it with the car booster and I maintain 5 bars in rural 1-2 bar areas, even in my garage. Highly recommend.

Ok, I moved into a manufactured home that has an all metal exterior. Cell phone reception was terrible. "Call failed" and dropped calls. When I went outside I get 4 bars. Inside one bar if I'm lucky. So I got one of these and figured that since the antenna is outside then I'd get 2-3 bars right? Wrong. Now my phone is a Razer so I got the adaptor for it. The adaptor fit is very dicey. Sometimes I'd get a couple of bars, sometimes nothing. So I called Wilson up to find out if I was doing something wrong. Nope. I got told "it is what it is and there is only a 2DB gain anyway". So I go back to the drawing board. I look at Wilson's products and they make a cradle. You hook this antenna up to a cradle that you keep your phone in at all times. Ok, so how do you answer it? Bluetooth obviously. So that got me to thinking. In certain places in the house I can get up to three bars - on the windowsill for example. So, what I did is order the Motorola 730 that you can sync up to both phones here in the house. That's my solution to the issue.So the adaptor for the razer doesn't fit very well and loses connectivity and falls out from the back of the phone. These antennas are eventually going to go away anyway as far as a direct connection to your phone. I was told that it is very rare to have a place to plug it in. So, look at spending a little over a hundred bucks for the cradle set-up, antenna and home office adaptor if you have the issues that I do. Or try propping your phone up next to the window.

can use cell phone from inside the cabin where outside without it we have no bars..... use it with the wilson sleek....

Not satisfied at all , this is the second one I've ordered cause the description said it had a female connection on it ,it didn't, both came with a male connection on it .... not happy at all!!!
