Exactly what I needed
I have a 2006 Tempstar furnace… it would fire up, then go off. For those not already aware, all a flame sensor does is detect “heat” from the flame and send a low voltage signal back to the control board saying “yes - there is flame - continue.” If it does not detect flame, then for safety it cuts the furnace thinking it may not be lit (to prevent gassing yourself out of your own home). I first cleaned mine, and it worked for about a week, but it started doing the same thing. So I figured I’d just try replacing it… hoping that’s all it was and not my control board going bad. Happy to report I’ve had no issues since - so I think it’s safe to say (knock on wood) that this was all I needed. For anyone concerned about the difficulty in replacing this part, I can say for my unit all I needed was a screwdriver (to remove the furnace side panel) and a 1/4” nut driver to remove the one screw holding the flame sensor in place. Your unit may be different, but I’m sure it should be similar. Five minute project! For the price, it may be worth it to keep a spare in my toolbox - just in case.

Easy do-it-yourself fix
My furnaces is a Tempstar, about 10 years old. Started having problems last year where it would kick on but then kick back off again. I fixed the problem by using an electronics cleaner spray and wiping off the flame sensor, but that only worked for a couple of weeks this winter, so I replaced it with this one. Install was very easy, just one screw and the connector. I was careful not to touch the sensor with my hands to avoid contaminating the metal. It's been in there for a couple weeks now and everything is working fine. Saved me lots of $$ doing it myself. I also replaced the Nitride ignitor with a HotRod 21D64-2. Ignitors and flame sensors are usually the first thing to go on a furnace and fortunately they are easy to replace.

OEM replacement for furnace
Perfect, could not buy this part at the local plumbing and heating store, same problem last year , would think they would have this part readily available, since it is cheap enough to replace and it stays on hand just in case! Product is same as the original part in the furnace!
