Supple, no perceptible loss.
Good copper, supple cable. Easy to separate with a knife. This is everything speaker cable should be. I know whereof I speak: I've been handling audio installs for more than 60 years.By the way, 14AWG is all the cable needed for up to 200 W/run (provided the run isn't over 25 ft. Just make sure it crosses any other cable at a right angle and if you're really picky, no kinks. That said, the larger the guage and shorter the run, the less loss you will detect (with a sensitive expensive meter, not the multimeter in your toolbox.

This 14# wire is good ,the strand ends benefit from tinning, and the cover is sufficient.
The home A/V industry perpetuates the over sized wire=great sound myth. Stereo Review's Hirsch Houck lab once ran a 1000 watts RMS into Polk SDA flagship speakers, showing cheap18 gauge lamp cord (used for speaker cables) caused small losses, but not in the scope of human hearing. Exhaustive testing, by credited techs, using bench reference grade equipment, in a double blind test. That casts light on status spending for speaker wire that does nothing for sound quality. Use this Install Gear wire for your under 30ft speaker runs, note your volume level. Keeping all things the same, wire up 0-2# versus14g# then repeat all conditions, and SPL meter everything. Now try it with longer runs but until you do this, what do you truly know? Ask -does it matter if you have speaker wire losses that you can't hear? So if your running a couple hundred watts under 50ft don't stress over this CCA wire. You do know its very likely your listening room's outlets,lights,amplifier(s)/receiver, and gear are run on 12 to14 # up 2,200 watts up to a 100ft run (maybe more) from a breaker box to AV room. Check the*national charts on wire capacity by length, then make certain you have corrosion free spkr wire, with good contacts, so you can get more real world returns. Speaker wire 5X to10X the gauge supplying power to your amp, in order to feed 350 watt speakers 30 feet away -however- is great for MTI which = money transfer inefficiency.

The Best
This wire is EXCELLENT! I've had my stereo system for 20 years and I thought I was using the wrong wires all this time and I was! These wires made the biggest difference in the sound quality. My system sounds so much better and clearer to were I don't have to have the volume up as high as before.

nearly 2 feet less than advertised length
I needed to make 3 33' cable runs between two wall panels, so I ordered the 100 foot spool. When I unwound it and straightened it out to measure off the sections, I found that the spool was not actually 100 feet, but was only about 98 feet. I measured it 3 times just to confirm and sure enough, it's less than the advertised length by almost 2 feet. Very frustrating. I wrote the seller TriStateValue about the issue but never received a response. I will be returning it because I actually need the length that I ordered. I gave it two starts because it appears to be very high quality, but it is simply not usable due to the fact that it's too short. It would receive 5 starts if it was the correct length. I imagine that most people won't need exact lengths like I do, so it may work fine for them as long as they don't actually need all 100 feet of speaker cable.

Good purchase
The gauge is good and trims well with a crimping tool. I purchased this speaker wire because I thought the red band would be easier to use than the traditional white without being too brightly colored. I am not able to hide the wire completely to one of the speakers. I am not disappointed. Good product.

copper plated aluminum.
It looks like copper , right? Its aluminum. Copper plated aluminum.Does it probably do what a copper wire would do with in reason.... yes.is it supple and bendy and nice ??? nope. Its aluminum and i suspect for one install and leave it its fine but if you move it or if its for mobile installs I doubt it will last. try not to bend it sharp.I feel like if they had noted it was copper plated aluminum it wouldnt deserve such low stars for it. But I feel like i got had because it was not noted.

Not the quality i want
The product came on time as promised, but I feel like the 14 gauge wire I got from The Home Depot is of a better quality. I wanted to use them to wire up my rear surrounds in my Klipsch reference setup but I am returning these and decided to pay a little more for a roll of 14 gauge from monoprice.com. Was a reference from a theatre guy i watch on YouTube who is knowledgeable about where to get quality speaker wire. These might work fine, but I personally want to get the best quality I can afford when it comes to my sound quality.
