Many years ago, I introduced my late brother to Commando war comics. He took an immediate liking to the Jeep and claimed that he did extensive research on the vehicle. I didn't believe a word he told me but never made his any wiser. So when I was given the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book I jumped at the offer.And then it hit me like a WW11 bomb!As I read, I heard my brother's voice saying "I told you so." How did he know this?..."The front grill of the Jeep was designed for Ford originally. It did have thirteen slots in 1940. Then, in 1941, the number went down to nine. Finally, the magic number seven was finalized for the Jeep and still stands. When Willys tried to copyright the grill with nine slots, they realized Ford had already done so, so that is actually why Willys dropped down to the magic number seven. " ...And this: ..."the Jeep is the first vehicle to drive on every continent and each slot represents one of the seven continents.." I remember these vividly and how I poked fun at him.I became more interested and delved into the book, more to validate my brother's often pronouncements. Of course, in searching I discovered many more interesting facts about the vehicle that my brother would have loved had he been alive. I'd do anything to hear another of those lectures. But I'm elated at this splendid opportunity of learning more about my brother's pet vehicle. I had no idea that was so much history about the Jeep. Truly amazing how it has come so far and how many people have absolutely fallen in love with this vehicle brand. I have owned one myself and liked it pretty well. There were at least 25-30 that rolled through my town today. Looked at my son and said, "Well they've not been mudding, yet." The Jeep may have been made for WWII but it has truly been upgraded, loved, tricked out, used in movies, and isn't slowing down. Love all the trivia and facts. Would make an excellent gift for a Jeep lover.

I've always been a big fan of Jeep's versatile design and rugged appearance. But, I did not know much about its history. This book goes into detail about the Jeep's history through trivia, which is a unique and fun way to learn about this vehicle. I was surprised at how much I actually know about the Jeep because many of my extended family have owned many Jeep. I was exposed to them as a kid. Overall this is a light, accessible book about all things Jeep and is recommended for anyone who wants to know its history.

If you're a jeep fan of the JL or JK, then you need to read this book now. This will give you a MUCH deeper appreciate for the Jeep, it's brand, what it stands for and the history.I will make sure to give this to all my friends who love Jeeps and own one. I recommend!

Fun trivia and background on an American vehicle that is an important part of our history. My father was a GP driver, and I found this book very informative and brought up many happy memories of stories told—a great book for any car enthusiast, especially the one and only JEEP.
