This increased my acne. Doesn't help at all

Zakia makes a very high quality clay. It is a relatively small container, but you will be able to use it for many months. A couple of things to keep in mind: Just because Ghassoul is right for me, doesn't mean it is right for you. I have very sensitive, dry skin. I moisturize obsessively throughout the day. I have very mild, occasional acne. Teenagers or anyone with severe breakouts and oily skin, may want to go straight to the Calcium Bentonite Clay. However, if you have very sensitive skin or dry skin in addition to severe acne, you may want to experiment with the Ghassoul Clay as well. Ghassoul is my favorite of the many different types of healing clays. Mix the clay with water and apply to your face or any external area you like. I don't have an exact science for the clay to water ratio, but you may try a one to one ratio to start and add more clay or water depending on how thick you want it to be. When you mix it, it will turn it into a smooth, silky paste. Put it on your skin for 5-10 minutes. If you see or feel it drying before you want to take it off, I would mist your face with water. If you know you have sensitive or dry skin, I'd try 5 minutes to make sure you don't irritate your face. Depending on the color of your skin, you may see redness, but that's normal unless it persists more than half an hour after the treatment. Ghassoul makes my skin unbelievably soft and supple. Do keep in mind that, you really should moisturize after you do a mask. I would put the mask on at night before a shower and then put on a heavy moisturizer to sleep. I like using coconut oil and Shea butter mixed together with sea buckthorn oil (especially the extremely delicate under eye skin). It will feel greasy, but it is extremely good for your skin! I promise if you use a Ghassoul Clay mask even on it's own you will see results. Smaller pores and Baby soft skin! When you pair it with a moisturizer before bed, you will wake up with the best skin you've ever had. I use it once a week as a facial/neck mask and I use it as body wash everyday. I use a coffee mug and a silicone spatula to mix it. **DO NOT USE METAL UTENSILS* Forgive, the obnoxious capital letters, but it is very important because the clay will absorb the metal and you don't want that. I love using as a body wash as well. You can do it the same way as you would mix the facial mask (one to one water to clay ratio and adjust according to your preferences) and put the mixture into a squeeze bottle. Just shake the bottle a bit to make sure it is mixed properly and then use it like you would a regular body wash. Keep in mind that it will work better if you can leave it on your skin for a minute or two. Remember, you need to use plastic without BPA because it will leech into your mixture and that would be a very bad thing. You can leave the mixture in the shower and change it once a week or so. You can also use the mixture to wash your hands as you would a regular hand soap as well. Ghassoul Clay is an amazing solution for cleaning your skin without exposing yourself to carcinogens and it will save you tons of money. I hope you all give it a try. It's worth it.

I seriously love Ghassoul(otherwise known as roussoul) clay! I happened to buy some off an herbal website years ago and was impressed with my skin after one application. I decied to try this brand to save some money and I was not disappointed! It comes in a plastic 8 oz container with brief instructions printed on the side. Its great to make on its own with a bit of filtred water mix in to make a paste and it leaves my skin super soft and glowing but I like to jazz it up a bit. Here is my recipe that leaves my skin radiant clear and clears out my clogged pores. It works better than any store bought mask I have ever tried. I-2 tsp ghassoul clay in a small plastic container with a lid(you will need to store the leftovers in the fridge) 1-2 tsp of bentonite clay(I use Aztec Secret amazing stuff do not skip this it will seriously pull out any gunk) All or any combination of the following items: 1-2 tsp French green clay Tumeric powder(yes its not just to cook with its amazing for the skin) Pure vitamin E oil Vitamin C powder Neem powder(if you have oily or acne prone skin mix it all up with half filtered water and half lemon juice or Braggs apple cider vinegar(great for toning and clearing out the skin) Slather the goo on your face lay down and relax and after 20 minutes your face with feel like its being sucked off(if you used the Indian clay that is) I like to remove it in the shower but if not remove it with a Hot wet wash cloth and rince of the remaining dried mask with lots of water. (it dries on very firm) This stuff is amazing and trust me you wont find a better or pure mask at the store. The clay lasts forever I store it with all my other herbal goodies in a basket in my closet and it lasts for a long time!

Works really well! I like to mix 2:1 ratio of this and bentonite clay and add water or apple cider vinegar until its a paste. Ive been using it as a face mask but also as a tummy mask to help fix/tighten the loose skin from pregnancy lol it seems to be working tho!

I purchased this on accident. I didn't realize I was buying a powder that I had to mix myself. I decided what the heck, why not check it out. I received it on Wednesday, it is now Monday. I used it 2x this week. Maybe a premature review, if I find my mind changes, I'll edit this. Mixing the clay yourself isn't the pain I thought it would be. Like other reviewers, I did have issues the first batch with making it too thin, then too thick, then having too much. But you can store it for your next mask so it's ok to accidentally make too much. The instructions here on Amazon (in the pics for the product) say 1 Large Tablespoon to 5 tablespoons of water. DO NOT DO THIS. You will end up with too much, and too thin a product. It dripped right off my face at those ratios. 1 tablespoon is enough for 2 masks. If you don't want to store excess, I recommend half a tablespoon, and not 1:5 ratio. I would say try a 1:4 ratio and go from there to what feels good to you. It says like a pancake batter, that's a pretty good idea of what it should look like. The product did leave my face red after, but I have super sensitive skin, nearly everything leaves my face red after. What was important is it didn't leave it dry and itchy and it did not burn. It left it soft. And once the redness went down, I noticed my blackheads were dramatically reduced. After my 2nd application a few days later, my blackheads are gone entirely and my pores are noticeably tighter. If you have sensitive skin, I would caution against using it before going somewhere because of the redness. Otherwise, I love it. And I don't think I'll be able to go back to a premixed mask again.
