I don't know what compelled me to get back into yo-yoing, but after 25 years, I thought I'd give it another shot and ended up picking up a few of these Yomega yo-yos. The Brain is an "auto-return" yo-yo, with a clutch system. When this yo-yo is thrown to the floor with enough force, it will sleep for a duration and then automatically return to your hand before it runs out of energy. It's a really good entry point for learning a few simple tricks, sleeping, walking the dog, around the world where the clutch makes it easier to return the yo-yo to your hand. But I've found it quite challenging to do a rock the baby, as the clutch will usually activate within around 7 seconds. The Spectrum and Fireball are functionally the same. Both of them sleep really well. With a good throw you can get around 15-20 seconds of spin, which is plenty of time to do most tricks. The Fireball feels slightly more smooth and is the lightest of the set, while the Spectrum has a multi-colour LED lights in both hemispheres of the yo-yo. I've not had a chance to use any other light-up yo-yos, but the colour changes in the Spectrum look like some of the best I've seen. Using these to do "looping" tricks in the dark looks phenomenal. I'm tempted to pick up another to learn some two-handed play. Some notes I'd recommend for using these yo-yos, for the non-clutch yoyos, you'll need to use your finger to hold the string while you re-string the Fireball and Spectrum, otherwise the axel will just spin freely while you try to re-string it. Additionally, if they stop sleeping or don't return properly, you can re-lubricate these by unscrewing the sides, taking out the plastic bearing and adding a tiny dab of vaseline to the metal bolt where it meets the bearing. Really good fun, and at ten pounds a yo-yo in these sets, I've bought a few to give to friends. Solidly recommended.

These are fantastic. I bought these as my children took an interest in using their wooden yoyos all of a sudden, but neither of them spin or do tricks like the old Coca Cola, Sprite or Fanta yoyos from my childhood. the brain yoyo with the clutch works well, it does come apart a lot while using it so remember to check it's tight every once in a while, but my youngest is getting the hang of it and has managed to develop a trick. The fireball is perfect, just like the ones I used as a child. People giving one stars because they can't wind the yoyo up have never used a real trick yoyo before, so ignore the 1 star reviews for that reason. There is a knack to it.

Good whilst they lasted! I bought them for my two sons (10 & 6) by day 2 3 strings had snapped right at the bottom, not through misuse and by day 4 one of the yoyo's centre spindle part had snapped. I could understand if they were £2 each, however, at £10 each i expected a little better. I can't find an option to talk to the supplier and send them back as surely they should last longer than a week.

Super Yo-Yos für Loop- Tricks und zum Sleeper üben. Der Brain ist ein Yo- Yo für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene, die Loop Tricks lernen wollen. Durch die Kupplung im Yo- Yo kommt dieser zur Hand zurück, sobald das Drehmoment zu stark abnimmt. Bevor das passiert fängt der Yo- Yo an zu verbieten, sodass man weiß, dass der gleich zurückkommt. Einziges Manko: Das Teil kam aus der Box ungeölt. Sprich der Sleeper hielt selbst bei kraftvollem Wurf nur maximal 5 Sekunden. Nachdem ich die Achse mit Dünnem Öl behandelt hatte, hat sich das Problem aber gelöst. Also gerne auch Yo- Yo Öl (das Dünne) dazukaufen. Alternativ geht auch Mineralöl. Der Fireball kann in meinen Augen nichts besonderes. Auch ihn musste ich ölen, um die Drehzeit im Schlaf zu verlängern. Er kommt nicht von selbst zur Hand zurück. Man muss also Zucken. Eventuell lassen sich damit einige Tricks machen, die länger als 10 Sekunden dauern. Der Spectrum ist ähnlich wie der Fireball ein normaler responsiver Yoyo, der aber leuchtet, wenn er sich dreht. Den habe ich natürlich auch geölt. Also am besten alles ölen 😉. Sieht auf jeden Fall sehr gut aus im Dunkeln. Für Loop- Tricks sind sie Yo-Yos definitiv super. Sie machen auch einen sehr guten Eindruck und fühlen sich nicht billig an. Den Brain würde ich auf alle Fälle wieder kaufen. Für alle die, die einen Angänger Yo-Yo suchen, mit dem sie richtige Schnur- Tricks machen können, sind diese Yo-Yos aber nichts. Hier handelt es sich wirklich um ganz einfache Yo-Yos für das Rauf- und Runter und Tricks wie „around the world“. Der Brain könnte für kleine Kinder auch interessant sein, da er wie gesagt von selbst zurückkommt.

I grew up playing with Yomega yo-yos and when I saw this set I knew I had to get it for my nephew. Wanted him to experience the same thing I did as a kid and honestly these delivered way more than I expected. The quality is just as good as I remember. They spin smooth, they’re easy enough for a beginner to pick up but still fun once you start learning tricks. My nephew had it figured out within the first hour and hasn’t put them down since. Watching him get excited about something I loved at his age was worth every penny. If you grew up with Yomega and want to pass that down to a kid in your life, this is the one to get. Two yo-yos in the pack is a bonus too because you know at least one is getting lost eventually. Really happy with this purchase.
