What is the brand and model number of the uv led used in this device?

Thanks for your question. The LEDs in all our models are custom made and form part of our OEM device offering. 
The LEDs are not mass produced nor off-the-shelf generic. This has advantages. Whilst it is a matter of user preference we found that mass-market generic examples
have inherent issues which contribute in one way or another to undesirable side-effects. For example, sometimes the LEDs are over-driven as well as other factors 
like thermal runaway, wavelength peak, flux density, irradiance, LED lifetime, etc. have parameters which we believe users could do without 
or do with less of. Therefore, you will find variation and design issues one of them being that some 365nm LEDs actually peak at 367nm - small difference we know
but it does have an impact. Whilst many users will not be interested in the actual details, but they will feel the effects. This is why we 
decided to view the UV flashlight as a "whole-of-system UV emitting device" - using the axiomatic design engineering approach to put "things in balance" as much as possible. Hope that provides some input. [uvBeast]

Can it detect ringworm?

Theoretically, this would work. I've not yet used this particular model, but at 365nm wavelength, it is a comparable alternative to a Wood's lamp. Thus, certain fungi would fluoresce using this light.

Question 3

How do you know if it is charging? Plugged it in, pushed red ‘on’ button once, so I am assuming that it is charging, don’t know how to know for sure?

Yeah, read the instructions multiple times.  No (charge) light of any kind is coming on regardless of the configuration.  Tried everything for two (2) hours.  Yes, the white plastic cap has been removed so battery makes contact.  Yes, when I hit the power button the light does come on for a second, then back off—probably low battery, but at this point may indicate another malfunction.  Also, I have the V3 365nm Beast w/o these issues—so not a newbie to the Beast.  Junk.  Returning.

Question 4

Does the battery charging LED change colors when charging is complete?

Hi. Yes the charge indicator light will first be RED and then turn GREEN when fully charged. PLEASE ENSURE that the battery is oriented correctly - the positive end must face the LED head and also that the white plastic battery insulation disc has been discarded. Otherwise the charge procedure will be unsuccessful.

PLEASE NOTE that the charge time can vary according to several factors we'll mention: (1) The USB power source, (2) If the battery is in sleep mode it can take a longer time for a full charge cycle to complete. So please wait until the charge indicator light turns green. The battery may go into sleep mode if it is over discharged in order to protect the cell. Trickle or slow charge occurs in order to preserve the cell. Charge times will then resume to normal.
