I use this to plug four HDMI devices (PS4, Xbox, Apple TV, etc.) into the switch, which splits out the video signal and sends that to my older TV (2009 Westinghouse) via HDMI and separately sends the audio to my Sonos Playbase via optical audio cable. It works as expected and the audio/picture quality is good; there is no degradation or issues there as far as I can tell. The unit did stop working after five months. Obviously, that is not desirable. The only option I could find to contact their customer support was via the Amazon website. Which I must say was a very clunky interface for doing that and it was hard to locate the correct option and difficult to navigate. Once you figure out how to do this, it lets you send an email to the merchant. Their reply arrived in my email inbox. You would think that to reply to that email you could send your reply like a normal email. There were no instructions in the email that would indicate otherwise. However, it seems that they won't get the response if you send it that way. I figured out that you have to go back to Amazon.com and jump through all the navigational hoops again and send your reply from the webform. Amazon really needs to provide a better method for contacting their merchants. Anyway, once I was able to communicate with the merchant, they needed some basic info from me and then sent me a free replacement right away. So that part was good. The replacement looks like it might be an updated model, so hopefully this unit will be free of whatever flaw caused my first unit to fail. I'd like this thing to keep working for years to come.

1st: good customer service from Amazon and 5 stars to the supplier too. But this item just isn't good. Two different units I tried had signal dropping and overheating issues. I wanted to like this item. It worked well for one month exactly and literally the signal to the tv kept dropping. Troubleshooting on my own showed it wasn't the HDMI cords nor connections directly to the devices attached to the switch, nor the HDMI output port on the switch itself. Turned out that first HDMI input port of the switch went bad. Okay, so I used the last free input port on the switch and it worked again. I contacted Amazon about the faulty port/broken item and they said the return window had just closed, but they'd allow a special one time courtesy return. Truth be told, I didn't have the original box anymore, so I contacted the supplier. 5 stars to their service as they sent me a replacement right away. However, that unit almost immediately had the same issue because it'd quickly overheat (like, HOT hot) which would then also lead to the signal to the tv dropping. The switch was not constantly plugged in (power strip is off when tv isn't in use) and I was using the suggested cables and everything was set up properly. I just cannot recommend purchasing/using this item. I'll make due without a switch at this point as the extent of the overheating was worrisome. At the $30-40 price point, I wasn't expecting a spectacular viewing experience (although video and audio quality were great when it was temporarily working), but lasting, proper functioning would have been acceptable. I just wanted a switch with multiple inputs for a DVD player, streamer box, Blu-ray, and an HDMI video and optical audio output. Better yet would be to include Bluetooth function for the audio output. But, this simple setup wouldn't be worth $2-3 hundred for a better switch. I liked the idea of the tower version with Bluetooth from a different manufacturer, but it only had one HDMI input and the Bluetooth signal kept dropping. I'm open to suggestions?

I cannot afford a new tv, so after some research, this component came to my attention. My 50" tv is 2011 year HD 1080p. My tv has an antenna for reception with 4K and 400 mile range. On the 4K switch there are four HDMI Ports that can be connected to audio and video components. There is one HDMI cable port tv connection out and one audio connection (Optical cable I Provided not included) to the tv. I hooked up a Roku, Bluray player & VHS using Highspeed HD cables. The audio hooked straight into the tv. Those with soundbars can hook up to them instead. I do not play video games, but that can be hooked up too. With the exception of VHS, the tv picture is sharper and colors are more vivid. To my estimation, this unit has met my expectations. I spent less than $70 for a combination on all hookup cables and the HDMI switch (obviously less than cost of 4K tv replacement). A booklet was included with pictures and everything was connected, plugged in and powered up under 30 minutes. A remote is included but I just use my TV remote and that works the same way. The unit itself is so small it fits neatly tucked away on the tv stand. Easy to use, great alternative for those on a budget, and satisfying my goal of much better tv picture. Thanks y'all.
