Awesomely adequate, buy them but ADJUST THE RELEASE TENSION!
Short version: buy them, but LOOSEN THE PEDAL RELEASE TENSION ADJUSTER!Long version:Adjustment: The instructions say that "Pedals with adjustable release tension are delivered with the lightest release setting." I assumed that was the case. On my first ride with these cleats & pedals, I repeatedly clipped in and out, trying to get them to loosen up and get used to the feel. After six miles of this, I was still having trouble getting out of the pedals. I stopped by the side of the road and checked them out, they were at about midway on their release tension setting. (There's an indicator that shows the setting.) Since they were new and stiff, mid-way was too tight. I loosened them up about two turns, and they're fine. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NEW TO CLIP-IN PEDALS, loosen the adjustment until (1) you are used to them and (2) using them loosens them up. Then re-tighten them to your preference.Value: If you're a serious racer, you're probably not even reading this review on low-end shoes. If you like to impress your riding buddies with your expensive kit, you'll be glad to know that Amazon sells $650 Louis Garneaus Louis Garneau Course Air Lite Shoe - Men's White, 45.0 If you're a commuter in heavy traffic, and/or you have to walk to class or work at the end of your ride, at least consider double-sided mountain bike pedals and shoes. They're easier to get in and out of, and more walkable. If you like to just hit the road for fifty miles or more, these are all you need! They are awesomely adequate, and you can make use of the money you save at a nice destination restaurant, or even hotel.Sizing: I wear a 9 or 9.5 wide in regular shoes, I got the 9.5 equivalent, EU 44. I could have gotten away with the 43's but my toes are happy with the extra room.Miscellaneous: They're made in Taiwan, the instructions are written in real English (not Google translate pidgin!) as well as French and German. they ventilate quite adequately. I have about 150 miles on them so far, if they die early I'll update this. I'll try to remember to update it again when I have a couple thousand miles on them. I only gave them four stars because of the misinformation about the tension setting, and I'm sure the Garneau's are nicer in some way, just nothing I'm willing to pay for!Update 4-19-20192 1/2 years and THOUSANDS of miles later, my right pedal died today. (The block that holds the spring broke loose, can't clip in.) I think I definitely got my money's worth. The shoes are a bit scuffed, but still fully intact and functional, so I will stick with them. I stand by everything in the earlier part of this review. I just ordered (Amazon) these replacement pedals and clips: Xpedo Road Bike Sealed Magnesium Pedals Look Keo Compatible Black

Perfect beginner set!
This set is exactly what a cyclist needs that has never used a clipless set before. If you are new to clipless shoes and pedals this is where you need to begin. Don't go buy a $300 set when this set will give you everything you want with the added bonus of not busting the bank. This is entry level but that dosent mean it's a cheap product; enixpensive yes, cheap no. This set will show you how much smoother you can keep your cadence and engage muscles otherwise useless with standard pedals. On to the review: The shoes fit great and are very comfortable. The SL Look pedals are sleek and weigh a little less than my old standard set. The tension screw is solid and makes for easy adjustments for your personal preference to get in and out of the clips. The cleats are a hard plastic and fit perfect to both the shoe and pedals. Knowing I commute in city traffic with lots of signals I assume the cleats will wear down fairly fast getting in and out of them a lot. Though a new pair of these are a nominal $15.00 it's barely a concern of mine right now.A little background on myself: I've been riding a 10 speed roadbike for around 2 years and started commuting to work full time about 7 months ago. My commute is a good 15 miles round trip and I also will ride on average 25-40 miles on an early Saturday morning. Before now I have always used standard pedals and had a childish fear of clipless shoes, what if I fall? What if someone I know sees me fall? I don't want to hurt my body or my ego. Practice will and has helped me get over this small worry of mine. It's different to rotate your foot out to un-clip as opposed to just stepping off but its a maneuver that is easily trained.Needless to say I'm very impressed with this combo pack that comes with everything you need. I have suggested this exact set to a coworker I ride with on some weekend who, like me, only used standard pedals before. He has since purchased them after telling and showing him my gains from our rides. I used to average 18 mph cruzing on our 25+ mile weekend rides. Now I am steady averaging 20 mph over the course of the ride! Never thought I would get there without a full carbon setup, which I can hardly afford even if I wanted to. So what's better than gaining over 10% in speed? CLIMBING HILLS!! It's why we have road bikes! We ride for the hills and the down hills of our accomplishments! I had always struggled with climbing hills seeing as I was only using about 70-80% of my leg power. I didn't realize how vital a roll the hamstrings played in getting to the top! Yes it does take time to rewire your brain to the new method of pulling up on each stroke and the rotation to get out but the positives far outweigh the negatives on all accounts. I'm glad I waited to use clipless only from the standpoint that I have shattered my own personal expectations of what I can do, now I can do more and faster! -Safe riding everybody.

Nice light cycling shoe
Shoes have held up well I have replaced the original cleats already been going for 2 years and I'm a everyday cycle commutter. Shoes could be a bit stiffer but for the price point I would buy them again.

Good product but sizes are a bit strange
Good product but sizes are a bit strange. I'm a size 10 normally so I measured my feet and ordeyed a 44 Eur is upto 27.5 cm to fit me which turns out to be a size 8 to 8.5. Suprisingly they fit perfect. Also clearer instructions for fitting cleats etc would be helpful.
