Great knife for the money
High quality knife. This is the second knife in this style from this company that I have purchased. It holds its edge well and is easy to sharpen. Great home kitchen knife.

Functionally are great. Awesome value use everyday.
Ordered a few of these to have for guests or when my shuns are sent out for corrective sharpening.Functionally are great. Very sharp. Well balanced. Aesthetically awesome. I actually love using them. The only thing is that the steel seems to be not very hard. It gets dinged up pretty easily unlike my shuns that take a beating and have never dinged in the 10 years I’ve had them. I doubt the hardness rating.Good thing they aren’t expensive. Just plan to take appropriate case to file with each use and occasional sharpening and honestly it performs like a knife 3x the cost. Some have commented on design flaws which I will address:- heavy handle and drop issues. This is highly subjective. I like a beefy handle and I find it perfect.- knuckles don’t clear bottom when chopping. I do t have this issue. Ever. And I have thick hands. Unless you’re a giant...- knives unbalanced. Nope. I find them perfect.Awesome value for the price. Have used everyday for a year, cook huge batches, still look and function like new.

Excellent everyday knife at a decent price
I have the 10-inch version of this TUO Chef Knife at home, and I love it so much that I purchased the 8-inch version for our small travel trailer. The knife is super-sturdy and weighted very well. The handle is comfortable and attractive. Cutting motion is good. There's nothing *not* to like about this knife!I always hand-wash and towel-dry my TUO knives to maintain the lustre of the blade and the integrity of the handle.TUO knives come in lovely boxes. I have gifted their knives to friends, and they also love them!

Just shy of 5 Stars
First, what’s not to like?Razor sharp right out of the box (which you would think would be a given but often it’s not). Balance is good. Nice long blade. Perhaps a bit deceiving from the photos (I pictured it being a little shorter) not necessarily a negative just an observation. Handle is moderately attractive but not overly so.So here’s where I will answer my original question. The only negative I can see so far is the top edge of the knife is fairly sharp on the edges. Not prohibitively so, in other words, I wouldn’t not buy this knife Because of it. definitely worth a little filing or sanding it but for the money, it’s hard to complain so far far.Haven’t used it yet, so I can’t give a description of how easy or difficult it would to sharpen, however what I always recommend to everyone is to steel Your knives after every use (and yes this is overly often but it’s to get you in the habit of doing it otherwise you won’t) And then they simply won’t get dull at all for an extremely long time; Sure beats having to sharpen them after they do!As a gift item it certainly would be an attractive one to receive. Comes in a nice golden colored box and handsomely packaged. I’m not one who keeps my knives in their original boxes, However you certainly could and if you don’t have a good knife holder I would certainly recommend it. Nothing worse than knives clanking around in a drawer getting damaged. I see it all the time.Like I said in the description five stars if it weren’t for the sharp edges on the top, but for the price you can’t possibly go wrong unless you’re a real knife snob, in which case you can go ahead and pay six times as much and basically get the same thing with smooth edges (I know, My daughter did that And then My other daughter damaged her knife by chipping the blade and I had to have it ground down and re- sharpened.Hope this helps.

It is so sharp.
This knife is really great, but it is so sharp that it can cut your hand, so always be careful.

The perfect knife
I have been in a quest to find the perfect knife . This may be it. It is balanced a little bit blade-forward but the handle is smooth and comfortable. The blade is incredibly sharp and the workmanship is lovely. I would recommend this TUO knife to any person who loves to cook. It is a great price for a nice kitchen knife.
