Presents grammar in a steady yet easy to understand format. I had previously tried other textbooks but some lessons are hard to follow because they present too much rules and theory in between exercises, which for me are indispensable for testing my understanding. Not so this book. It has lots and lots of exercises and is easily one of the better books I have had about Russian grammar.However, I recommend some knowledge of Russian before you start this book, at least a beginners level.

Excellent book that clearly reviews Russia's foundational grammar to take learners to intermediate stage. If you are patient, willing to work over time and systematically build your knowledge then by using this book as a consolidator to the Penguin Course and Daphne West's Teach Yourself Russian you ought to end up with a very strong platform after about 18 months on average. If you're just looking for a few tourist phrases then that's something diferent. This book builds confidence and accesses a fairly complex system that needs constant review and reinforcement. Lots of explanation to assist with grammar points with those all vital simple examples to illustrate meaning.
